Science and technology are applied at Vinh Phu ward, Thuan An town.
Role and importance of science and technology are clearly showed in the provincial party committee’s action plan on developing science and technology in service for industrialization and modernization in the period of international integration. Over the past years, local development of science and technology has reached remarkable results, contributing to local socio-economic growth.
Serving for local socio-economic development
Local scientific research and technology development has been accelerated over the past years. In the period of 2012-2014 alone, the local administration launched 25 tasks, took over 76 ones. Tasks of science and technology have been launched on application, solving urgent tasks of sectors, enterprises in service for local socio-economic development and in contribution to capacity, quality and efficiency of fields of socio-culture, education-training, industry, agriculture, natural resources-environment and IT.
Ngo Van Dinh, vice director of the provincial department of Science and Technology said that aside from orientation of scientific research and technology development, the local administration supports enterprises to carry out tasks of scientific research and technology development in an attempt to create new products, technology, materials as well as renovate equipment and machine, apply achievements of science and technology into production in the purpose of improving capacity and quality of business and production.
In addition, economic divisions of localities assign specialists on science and technology and leaders taking charged of science and technology work. From 2011 to 2015, localities carried out tens of projects and topics of science and technology.
Applying science and technology into reality
As many as 12 projects under industry-technology field in the period of 2012-2014 have helped enterprises apply advances of science and technology into technical improvement, cutting of production expense. Typically, project of solar energy dryer designed by CAXE Co.Ltd.; project of dryer of Minh Anh Company bring significant efficiency.
Besides, applying advances of science and technology into medicine, agriculture contributes to spur health check-up and treatment, improve income and stabilize economy for local residents.
Renovating work on scientific research and technology development
Implementing the Government’s Decision No.418/QĐ-TTg dated April 11, 2012 on ratifying scientific research and technology development strategy for the 2011-2020 period and the Government’s Decision No.893/QĐ-TTg dated June 11, 2014 on adjusting overall planning of Binh Duong provincial socio-economic development till 2020 and planning adjustment till 2025, the department of Science and Technology had renovation on scientific research and technology development on orders of departments, agencies and units.
According to Ngo Van Dinh, structure and obligation and responsibility of organizing and expanding results of scientific research and technology development lack of concrete regulations. Therefore, some results are not used or used inefficiency. Since 2014, the local sector has applied structure of orders to specify tasks and use results of scientific research and technology development.
In the coming time, the sector will focus on projects and programs of scientific research and technology development to apply advances of scientific research into production and life.
