In May 2015, provincial Market Control Department coordinated with related units to deploy Action Month for Food Safety 2015.
Accordingly, the department inspected 12 food businesses in the province, and detected 2 cases of violation, 5 cases were waiting for results and further clarification. The department also checked food safety and quality in markets; conducted rapid test of 83 samples; then detected 13 samples were positive for banned substances or residues of plant protection products.
Promoting the application of information technology in management, and instructing businesses to destroy 45,1kg yellow noodles, 4kg grilled pork, 6kg grilled fish… The test results showed that the sample rate of vegetables containing residues of plant protection products, microbial contaminated meat exceeding permissible limits was decreased but still at relatively high level.
In the future, provincial Market Control Department will continue to promote inspection at all levels.
