Strengthening Covid-19 prevention and control in each production line

Facing the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic, industrial parks, enterprises in the province have actively set up plans against the pandemic in each production line. Meanwhile, sectors and localities are also preparing isolation areas in case of the pandemic entering enterprises.

Pandemic prevention and control in each production line

It is known that many enterprises in the province are now taking more drastic measures to ensure safety for workers and stabilize production. Esquel Garment Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. at Thuan An city’s VSIP I now has about 6,300 employees. The company has set up scenarios against the pandemic when cases of cough, fever or F1, F2 appear in workshops and production lines. Ta Kim Doan, Chairman of the company's Trade Union said that when detecting dangerous cases, production group leaders will immediately notify managerial staff of the situation. The company’s medical department will take risk cases to a temporary isolation area away from production workshops.

Workers often wear masks, wash their hands for Covid-19 prevention and control

The company’s medical staff will ask these cases not to contact and stand 2 meters away from others. The company will then call provincial Department of Health for advice and guidance. Whilst, the company’s health department will regularly update information on the health status of the  employees, make a list of those having contacts with the employees and disinfect workshops, dormitories…The company does not use public means of transportation to move the employess to medical facilities. The company’s temporary isolation room always ensures ventilation, is equipped with a hand-washing sink, a trash can with tight lid, and a separate toilet area.

Meanwhile, Saigon Stec Co., Ltd., at Thu Dau Mot city-based VSIP 2, with more than 5,200 employees has set up a detailed scenario against Covid-19 in case of having a positive case to the virus. Do Quang Tung, Head of the company’s Administration-Personnel Department said that when detecting a suspected positive case, the company’s directorate will temporarily seal off the entire company. The company will coordinate with functional agencies to immediately check in order to detect employees who are showing symptoms of the pandemic; immediately isolate suspected cases in a separate area. For workers in the community, the company’s administrative department will ask for them to stay at home and immediately notify these cases to grassroots health agencies for settlement.

A representative of Han Xuong Shoes Co., Ltd. in Thu Dau Mot city said that the company will notify workers who are absent from the enterprise by the following forms: coordinating with contact tracing teams to send messages and call for workers  who are  absent from the company, requesting them to self-monitor their health at home, limiting contact with others, making medical declarations with the local health agencies; coordinate with provincial Department of Health to require localities in the province to review all workers of enterprises with Covid-19 cases; request workers to temporarily self-monitor their health at home, take samples for testing and organize isolation in accordance with the regulations.

The company will also coordinate with the Department of Health to send a list of workers who are absent from enterprises with Covid-19 cases to all provinces and cities with related people; request to make temporary isolation at home and take samples for testing, isolate in accordance with the regulations. While being blocked temporarily in order to wait for testing results, the company will require workers who are present at the enterprise to stay on site and strictly implement measures against the pandemic.

Getting ready for isolation

The province is now home to 29 industrial zones and 12 industrial parks, attracting more than 30,500 domestic-invested enterprises and 3,034 FDI ones. Facing the complicated developments of the pandemic, the province is also preparing isolation plans when there are cases of Covid-19 infection at production and business establishments or in industrial zones. On that basis, provincial Steering Standing Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control plans to use dormitories and tenement houses for workers at companies as isolation areas. Initially, the province deliberates about using existing concentrated isolation areas with a capacity of about 2,500 - 5,000 beds. In the case of the large-scale outbreak of the pandemic, the province will use all educational institutions as concentrated isolation facilities.

Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy Head of provincial Industrial Parks’ Management Board said that provincial Industrial Parks’ Management Board, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs have coordinated with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities and relevant agencies and units to set up specific plans on isolation in industrial parks and enterprises. Currently, relevant units are mobilizing materials and equipment to meet the needs of concentrated isolation areas. It is expected that cooking staff at enterprises will provide meals for isolated workers in the industrial parks during the pandemic period. Sectors have also conducted surveys to requisition unused factories in industrial parks to set up isolation areas on the 4 on-site spirit.

Also according to Mr. Trung, provincial Industrial Parks’ Management Board are organizing delegations to check each enterprise in the industrial parks on implementing anti-Covid-19 measures...The Management Board has so far established 3 inspection delegations on Covid-19 prevention-control and there have been 1,010 enterprises to submit self-assessment reports on Covid-19 safety to the Management Board, accounting for 39% of total. Currently, the Management Board is actively coordinating with sectors and localities to inspect enterprises that have implemented plans against the pandemic, especially in making daily medical declaration, updating Covid-19 safety map, building partitions at dining rooms.
