During national resistance wars, pupils and students have shown ardent patriotism, been ready to enroll to save the country. This tradition has been upheld up to now. In the current time, the young generation continues to foster patriotism through lessons in classes, meetings in extracurricular activities.
In addition to general knowledge, teachers, lecturers have also given lessons of patriotism to pupils and students. Lessons of history, geography, civics, defence education are not dry at all, because pupils can get much knowledge of the homeland. Tan Phuoc Khanh high school’s Youth Union Secretary Phan Van Giau (Tan Uyen town) said, his school cultivated patriotism in pupils through extracurricular activities. School Union collaborated with municipal Youth Union to hold a writing contest about islands for pupils with nearly 200 entries.

To pupils and students, tempered revolutionary ideals will nourish their soul. Thu Dau Mot University’s Youth Union Secretary Le Van Hai said, the school has paid much attention to patriotism education given in many varied forms, such as: visits at museums, contests, the movement “The youth learning and following uncle Ho’s teachings” generating many positive changes. Annually, Union members carry out hundreds of projects following uncle Ho’s teachings; thereby, many good examples emerged.
National sovereignty is imprescriptible. During 4,000 historic years, our ancestors defeated many powerful enemies, because of ardent patriotism, national solidarity. Provincial Department of Education and Training’s Deputy Director Tran Hieu said, educational sector has provided education of territorial sovereignty security and national borders for pupils and students at schools and universities. In fact, many activities to develop patriotism have been organized for pupils and students. Namely, Youth Unions have launched activities to return to traditional moral values, turn towards national islands, mobilize donations to Paracel and Spratly, visit, give gifts to fishermen coast guard…
Patriotism education for young people should be given while they are still sitting at schools. Pupils learn historic lessons from primary schools. This will accompany young ones until maturity.
