At the meeting, dialogue between provincial leaders and workers, Trade Union officials of companies in Di An town, Tran Thanh Liem, Standing Member of provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of People's Committee stressed, the meeting was to strengthen union for local and companies’ development. Therefore, after 9 annual meetings, provincial leaders learned more about thoughts and aspirations of workers to better care for them.
Thoughts and aspirations of workers
150 workers, Trade Union officials of companies took part in the meeting and expressed their thoughts as well as aspirations. The first opinion was about registering medical examination outside working hours and at convenient places to workers. Traffic accidents, congestion, damaged roads, unstable security within industrial parks, crowded residential areas were also presented.

Workers also wished to increase overtime working hours to earn more, have kindergartens, playgrounds for workers. Nguyen Van Nhan, worker of Hansoll Vina Company (Song Than I industrial park), said: “We really hope that leaders at all levels would build more kindergartens for our children, create more playground for workers after working hours, because we do not know what to do, after leaving the factory. We want suitable places for us to meet, exchange, and entertain”.
Clear explanations
Representatives of departments answered worker’s opinions. Nguyen Van Huu, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Trade and Industry said, the department would enhance inspections of price to constrain high price fixing from small shopkeepers.
Nguyen Phung Trung, Deputy Director of Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs said, as the decision on wage increase took effect, the department would send official documents to companies for serious implementation. Violations of some companies, for example, utilizing wage increase to cut employee’s allowances, will be investigated and handled strictly. Therefore, workers could keep their mind on work, because authorities will protect worker’s legitimate rights and interests.
Di An town People's Committee said, the town had paid more attention to caring for worker’s life in the town through building more schools, parks, football fields, swimming pools, implementing educational socialization…
In addition, local Centre of Culture and Information – Sports also organizes cultural and art activities on weekends for workers. Local authorities usually visit, give gifts to migrant workers, poor workers on big occasions.
At the end of the meeting, opinions, questions of workers, Trade Union officials were answered satisfactorily by authorities. Some macro issues will be noted to find solutions in the shortest time.
