Strict management of foreigners residing in the province

At present, provincial authorities at all levels and people have raised the awareness of proactive prevention of acute respiratory infections caused by the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). Verification groups to be established

Phu Tan Ward (Thu Dau Mot City) urgently established and operating verification groups to catch up the residence situation of foreigners, Vietnamese citizens, who are on business trips, foreign travel returning from infected regions, are currently living and working in the area... Each team has members including: Leaders of Ward People's Committee, Kim Huy Industrial Park Police Station, Ward Police, medical officials, and management boards of quarters survey the situation of foreigners, who are currently living and working in industrial parks and Le Cong Kieu Trade and Production Company.

Vi Thi Tam Lai, Chairwoman of Phu Tan Ward People's Committee, said: “Currently, there are 3 industrial parks in the ward: Dai Dang, Kim Huy and Song Than 3 industrial parks. The ward encouraged the political system, businesses and each person in the ward to drastically implement provincial and city guidance documents on the prevention and combat of Covid-19. With calmness, not bewilderment, the ward's authorities strengthened the communication, carries out a response plan to the Covid-19, and closely cooperated with Management Board of industrial parks located in the area to establish three verification teams. These teams’ function is to assist local government, steering committee of Covid-19 disease prevention and combat in zoning, screening suspected cases, and carried out quarantine promptly. After survey of the situation, Phu Tan Ward currently has not detected cases or signs of Covid-19.

Meanwhile, An Dien commune (Ben Cat town) also established verification groups to catch up the situation of foreigner residence, Vietnamese citizens Vietnamese citizens on business trips, foreign travel returning from infected regions. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of An Dien Commune People's Committee, said: “The indispensable component in the verification teams is the police, local medical centers, and administrative branches, unions in the ward that conducted verification and made a list of foreigners who are staying in the locality. In addition, the teams also reviewed the list of families and students returning to their hometown in 3 infected provinces, namely Khanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa and Vinh Phuc, to monitor and grasp the situation, promptly impose quarantine when there were symptoms of disease".

To keep close control of foreigner's health

Provincial Police collaborated with Immigration Department under Ministry of Public Security to check the list of foreigners residing in the province. The province had 104 foreigners with Chinese nationality, who declared temporary residence in the province, and returned from flights from Wuhan and surrounding areas, from 20 Jan to 5 Feb. Currently, Provincial Police discussed and advised Steering Committee of Covid-19 prevention and combat to strengthen synchronous collaboration between branches and unions, promptly take measures to check, inspect, monitor and treat the above cases to ensure the prevention of disease.

In particular, 91 administrative units of communes, wards and towns are urgently establishing and operating verification groups to catch up the residence situation of foreigners, Vietnamese citizens, who are on business trips, foreign travel returning from infected regions, are currently living and working in the area... The mission of the teams is to verify specific incidents and foreigners by written documents signed by the parties involved; Daily make written report on the situation of foreigners, Vietnamese citizens on business trips, traveling abroad returning from areas affected by Covid-19 epidemic in the area. Particularly unexpected cases are reported by phone or via Zalo, Facebook...

According to verification teams, Phu Tan ward has 177 Chinese and 127 Chinese - Taiwanese people. After checking, 2 cases were in Hoa Phu ward and 5 cases that did not have address, 1 case that have address at a company in Dai Dang Industrial Park but is currently in China, has not come back to the company. In addition, this company has 6 other Chinese people who returned home to celebrate Tet from 20 Jan until now. To conduct verification based on the list of Ministry of Public Security, Phu Tan ward has 5 companies that need to be verified. The ward verified 7 cases at companies, and they were in good health. In addition to these cases, local government also conducted additional verification of 4 companies in Dai Dang Industrial Park with 7 foreigners; the result was good.

Regarding the verification of foreigner's residence in the province, Nguyễn Lộc Hà, Chairman of People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City, said: “To implement Official Letter No. 38/CAT-PA08 of Provincial Police on prevention and combat of Covid-19 related to foreigners, the city steering committee instructed 14 wards to set up verification teams located and operating in the wards. The mission of the teams is to capture the situation of foreigner's residence, Vietnamese citizens on business trips, traveling abroad returning from epidemic infected areas and currently living and working in Thu Dau Mot City; to monitor their health condition, timely impose quarantine when there are suspected cases. In addition, the city steering committee also directed the city police and wards to closely monitor the movement of foreigners, especially Chinese people temporarily staying in the area; enhance communication, encourage people to prevent and combat Covid-19, capture official epidemic information according to reliable sources”.
