Students busy doing seasonal job

To some students, summer is the time to relax, return home or set off journeys after a long learning time. However, there are several students staying at lodging rooms and find part-time jobs to earn some money for living. Students worked as marketers for Abbot Milk101 types of seasonal worksVo Thanh Binh, student of HCM Open University – Binh Duong office, shared: “I have tried many jobs like delivering flyers, selling insurance, waiter, milk consultant… We only do jobs corresponding with our schedule and condition. My roommates usually call for each other every time having new part-time job”.Student Ha Quang Du born in Binh Dinh thought that doing part-time job is “job selects people”. He has tried jobs like selling breads, flowers, mobile phone sim, and server. He said, we need to prepare ideologically to be painstaking, adaptive and tolerant, so we are able to do everything. To strengthen knowledge, student Nguyen Thi Hong Suong living at Sao Mai dorm, Binh Duong selected appropriate job like being a tutor at home. This job requires strong general knowledge, understandable communicating. Will life be less difficult? Some students take jobs but do not know whether it is illegal or not. For example, Binh once was fined for encroachment of roadside because of hawking sim and insurance or when he was penalized by night-watchmen as sticking flyers on walls, he realized he was doing negative jobs.Tutor job seems easy, but it does not. Suong often has to take classes via job introducing centers. She realized that these centers are vague in revealing conditions, addresses of job to tutors. Introduction fee is 35% of the first salary while tutors have not received any wages yet. They only inform about detailed addresses after introduction fee is paid. But in fact, the real work place may be too distant, pupils lack fundamental knowledge or do not want to cooperate, parents make difficulties…There some centers even “overcharge” work hours of students. Suong said: “When I arrived, parents showed me flyers of centers, which promise 6 classes per week, while centers agreed with me about 3 classes per week. As I called, centers said, they had no responsibilities, if I did not do the job, I would lose 35% fee. Thus we have to work to save enough salary”.In summer, students do many part-time jobs in order to have little earnings and to accumulate experiences. However, students should learn carefully about jobs before starting to avoid ambiguity. Additionally, to students, studying is the most important thing. While learning, students can do some suitable part-time jobs for living, but should not forget about the long-term goal, the bachelor degree.Reported by Khuc Ngoc – Translated by Ngoc Huynh
