On July 23rd, provincial Department of Education – Training summed up activities of secondary schools cultivating proficient pupils in the 2012-2015 period and disseminate orientations, tasks in the 2016-2020 period.
Provincial Department of Education – Training organized Olympic contest of Literature, Mathematics and English on occasion of summarizing source-creating activities.
Currently, the province has 5 secondary schools cultivating proficient pupils: Chu Van An (Thu Dau Mot city), Binh Thang (Di An town), Trinh Hoai Duc (Thuan An town), My Phuoc (Ben Cat town) and Tran Hung Dao (Phu Giao district). Schools cultivating source of proficient pupils have received attention and investments to develop infrastructure, equipment, and staff assisting teaching activities. According to the department, these schools have worked well to enhance educational quality. Many pupils of these schools achieved prizes at excellent pupils contests at provincial and national level, and majority pupils were admitted to gifted and high-quality high schools of the province.
In the 2016-2020 period, the province will have 2 more secondary schools to create source of proficient pupils: Le Thi Trung (Tan Uyen town), Nguyen Binh Khiem (Dau Tieng district). As planning, 15% new 6th-grade pupils would be selected to source creating secondary schools, and 10% new 10th-grade pupils would be admitted to high-quality high schools.
