On Dec 30, provincial Steering Committee of measles - rubella vaccination campaign held a meeting to summarize the measles - rubella vaccination campaign within national expanded program on immunization (EPI) in 2014-2015.
Implementing PPC’s direction, the Steering Committee, agencies and unions coordinated with provincial health sector to deploy effectively the EPI’s measles - rubella vaccination campaign in 2014-2015 across the province. With the goals of reducing the incidence of measles and rubella, disease burden of congenital rubella, contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development objectives, the EPI’s measles - rubella vaccination was given to children from 1-14 years old in the province. The campaign was divided into 3 periods from Oct 2014 to Feb 2015.

After 3 phases of vaccination, the province had 339,945/344,857 injected children aged 1-14, completed 98.58% without recorded serious reactions. At some localities, there were 93 recorded chain reactions of psychological phenomenon among young student group. All cases were mild reactions, chain reactions were timely handled and monitored, reassuring parents and medical staff.
On this occasion, Ministry of Health awarded certificates of merit to 9 collectives and 5 individuals; PPC awarded certificates of merit to 26 collectives and 43 individuals making many achievements in the 2014-2015’s measles - rubella vaccination campaign.
