Helping laborers surmount difficulties

Provincial Labor Union has instructed trade union locals to coordinate with employers to propagandize and apply solutions against Covid-19 pandemic. Provincial Labor Union has also conducted trade union locals in communes, wards and townships to team up with the local functional agencies to mobilize proprietors to carry out rent fee exemption and reduction for laborers, engage in propaganda activities on Covid-19 prevention and control among laborers. According to statistics from trade unions at all levels of the province, nearly 700 lodging facilities have realized rent fee exemption and reduction for laborers with more than VND4billion every month.

Supporting businesses

Before the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic, businesses will continue facing difficulties, affecting the lives of laborers. Hence, according to leader of provincial Labor Union, businesses need to streamline their production-business activities. Laborers also need to share difficulties with businesses, well realize regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control at businesses, lodging facilities.

The province is now home to around 1.2million immigrant laborers. According to statistics in Q1, 2020, there were more than 13,000 laborers making procedures for unemployment insurance. A number of freelancers lost their jobs, due to Covid-19 pandemic. Trade Unions at all levels of the province have coordinated with functional agencies and businesses to take support solutions for workers to surmount difficulties in the current difficult period.

Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that trade unions at all levels of the province have advised businesses on effectively taking part in Covid-19 prevention and control; been proactive to contact units supplying masks, hand sanitizer to support businesses amid the complicated development of the pandemic; continued propagandizing and mobilizing laborers to keep their  mind on work, actively contributing to promoting enterprises ‘production-business activities. Provincial Labor Union will also propose functional agencies to take solutions to remove enterprises ‘obstacles from the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic…
