On the afternoon of June 28, provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) held a conference to announce provincial People's Committee’s Decision No. 1606/QD-UBND dated June 21, 2021 on promulgating the regulation for receiving, managing, distributing and using money and goods mobilized, voluntarily contributed to Covid-19 prevention and control at provincial Exhibition and Convention Center. The event was attended by Vo Van Minh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial FFC.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Loc said that in response to the “All people fight against COVID-19” call of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, provincial  Fatherland Front Committee has also launched the call of "All people fight against COVID-19" and received enthusiastic response from many businesses, agencies, organizations and individuals. As of June 28, individuals, organizations and businesses in and out of the province supported and registered to support VND 250 billion in cash and kind to the local fight against COVID-19.

Leader of Becamex IDC presents a symbolic board in support of Covid-19 testing for 1 million people, worth about VND 70 billion to provincial FFC

So far, provincial FFC’s Relief Committee has promptly allocated and supported VND14.25 billion from organizations and individuals for localities with Covid-19 cases in the province to carry out the fight against the pandemic.

With all the goods received, provincial FFC’s Relief Committee has also coordinated with provincial Red Cross to allocate them to isolation areas and hospitals in order to support people and anti-Covid-19 forces. District-level FFCs and member organizations have also organized many activities in line with their functions and tasks, joining hands with the province to well implement the local COVID-19 prevention and control. Accordingly, the FFCs of districts, towns and cities in the province have also received more than VND 3.22 billion along with many goods for the fight against the pandemic, including necessities, medical supplies, antiseptic water, face masks, rice, noodles…for quarantine areas; mobilized the owners of the local lodging facilities to reduce rental charges for workers affected by the epidemic... with a total value of more than VND 776 million.

Further calling for resources to support fight against pandemic

In order to promptly organize the distribution of goods and money voluntarily contributed to the fight against COVID-19 in accordance with the law, provincial People's Committee, on June 21, issued the Regulation on receipt, management, distribution and use of money and goods mobilized and voluntarily contributed to Covid-19 prevention and control under provincial People's Committee’s Decision No. 1606/QDUBND dated June 21, 2021.

According to this regulation, money and goods donated by organizations and individuals to the Relief Fund for  Covid-19  prevention and control will be used to  purchase Covid-19 vaccines, ventilators and medical supplies for Covid-19 prevention and treatment; support isolation areas and those who directly get involved in Covid-19 prevention and control, but have difficult circumstances (medical staff, armed forces, members of anti-Covid-19 Steering Committees at all levels, community anti-Covid-19 groups…). Provincial FFC has also asked for provincial Party Committee’s opinion in case of visiting and supporting localities affected by Covid-19 pandemic and transferring money to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (at request).

He added that Covid-19 pandemic is still happening very complicatedly with quick and dangerous spreading. The entire Party, people and army are still continuing acting drastically in the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy", well implementing the "dual goals" of pandemic prevention-control and  socio-economic development. Frontline anti-Covid forces such as medical staff, army-police forces,  community anti-Covid-19 groups, and volunteers... are working very hard with dangers.

In the face of the situation, provincial FFC has continued calling for joint efforts, material and spiritual support of the whole province to support the local Covid-19 prevention and control. Provincial FFC committed that all the contributions will be used for the right subjects, for the right purposes, in a timely and complete manner, contributing to the highest efficiency in the local fight against the pandemic.

At the conference, the province awarded the certificates of merit to more than 30 units and businesses for their contributions to the local Covid-19 prevention and control fund. Typically, Becamex IDC Corporation supported Covid-19 testing worth about VND 70 billion for 1 million people. Thai Binh Investment Joint Stock Company, provincial Labor Union, Binh Duong Business and Development Joint Stock Company, Phat Dat Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company also nearly donated VND20billion, VND7.2 billion, donated VND2billion, VND2 billion...to the fund, respectively. Thus, as of June 28, the total amount of donations and registrations to support the local Covid-19 prevention and control was more than VND250 billion.
