Propaganda promoted
Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that in order to uphold the role of female workers in the new period, provincial Labor Union over the past time attached special importance to propaganda work with main contents regarding gender equality for women’s advancement, domestic violence prevention, the Resolution 6B of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) on mobilization of women in the period of accelerating the national industrialization and modernization, the Decree No.03 of the Presidium of the VGCL on promoting the “Good at State affairs, responsible to housework” emulation movement, population-reproductive health, the Party and State’s policies for female workers.

In terms of reproductive healthcare for female workers, Mrs.Hanh added: “Over the past time, provincial Labor Union, Department of Health and enterprises made efforts in improving working conditions for female workers at factories. This was also the key, helping enterprises build up harmonious labor relations, contributing to increasing their productivity and quality of products. Particularly, provincial Labor Union in collaboration with provincial Family Planning Society held a communication class and supported services on reproductive healthcare for more than 400 workers at Vastco Gramemts Co. Or, Hoya Lend VN Co.Ltd. provided periodic medical check-ups for female workers while organizing propaganda programs on reproductive healthcare and family planning for them. Chi Hung Co.Ltd. also set up a club on healthcare for workers. Monthly, members of the club organize exchanges on gender equality, healthcare for female workers after giving birth…
Protecting female workers’ legitimate rights & interests
Over the past time, provincial Labor Union’s Board for Women’s Affairs tighten control over caring and protecting female workers’ legitimate rights and interests. Most enterprises in the province sufficiently carried out regulations on female workers. Even, some built kindergartens for workers’ offspring, gave allowances for female workers who have babies, but work excellently…
Provincial Labor Union’s Board for Women’s Affairs also suggested directorates of companies to realize many other support policies for female workers, effectively maintain a model of “breast milk cabin”…
On the occasion of the new academic year, provincial Labor Union organized a program dubbed “Notebooks, books of love”, gave 500 schoolbags and 60 scholarships for the offspring of workers with difficult circumstances. Provincial Labor Union also mobilized the boards for women’s affairs of trade union locals to maintain loan support funds with more than VND9billion, the Fund for poor women with more than VND1.1billion, the Fund for Children with more than VND157million…
