Gifts for workers
Di An town is one of the province’s localities crowded with workers. Hence, leaders of the town constantly organized many activities taking Tet care of workers over the past years. The town extracted the local State budget to donate hundreds of Tet gifts to workers hit by occupational diseases, labor accidents and those with difficult circumstances.

Di An town’s Labor Union offers Tet gifts to workers with difficult circumstances
On the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2019, along with 1,100 gifts from higher authorities, the town’s Labor Union offered 63 gifts worth VND23.5million to workers hit by labor accidents. There were also 12 workers with fatal diseases given gifts with a total cost of VND70million. In addition, the town’s Labor Union extracted its budget to donate a house of compassion worth VND100million to needy workers and is expected to hold a “Gathering in Tet holiday” program with such significant activities as art performances, folk games, programs selling goods with preferential prices…
Whilst, Thu Dau Mot city’s Labor Union will offer 50 Tet gifts worth VND500,000 each to workers hit by workplace accidents. The city will also extract its State budget to give 300 gifts for workers with difficult circumstances; offer 70 bus tickets to needy workers to return their hometowns for Tet with a total expense of VND 91million. These gifts will be given for workers in the “Gathering in Tet holiday” program organized by the city’s Labor Union on the evening of January 18. Leaders of the city will also hold delegations to visit and offer Tet gifts to workers with fatal diseases…
Recreational activities on Tet
Along with offering gifts to workers, the Youth Unions of districts, towns and Thu Dau Mot city have held many art performances in celebration of the Tet festival 2019. For example, Di An town’s Youth Union has organized art performances in areas crowded with workers every night. On the days near Tet, the town’s Youth Union will also kick off a “Tet meal” program. Meanwhile, Thuan An town’s Youth Union will organize contests on making “banh chung” (square glutinous rice cake), “banh tet” (cylindric glutinous rice cake), Tet meals…The town’s Youth Union will also coordinate with proprietors to organize recreational activities for workers at lodging facilities; instruct its branches to organize a program named “Street for workers at weekend” before, during and after Tet with practical activities such as folk games, art performances, sale-off goods selling programs…
Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that along with the efforts by Trade Unions at all levels, the local government has implemented a variety of activities taking Tet care for workers. These activities are seen as the local government’s gratefulness for workers who have made active contributions to the local socio-economic development.
