Late June 24, provincial Party Committee in collaboration with National Economics University held a scientific talk show on “Strategy on urbanization in association with sustainable development”.
Attending the event were Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Prof.Dr.Nguyen Dinh Huong, former Principal of National Economics University, former Deputy Head of National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education and Youth; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of sectors in the province.

At the talk show, delegates discussed issues regarding “The real situation and orientations on infrastructure and urban development in the southern key economic zone”. Mr.Liem said that Binh Duong’s view on development was to build up green, clean and beautiful urban areas to create a good living environment for residents. Based on its plans on infrastructure and urban development approved, Binh Duong has called for enterprises to make investment in this field. The province’s target of building green, clean and beautiful urban areas has been defined since 2007 and the province’s technical infrastructure in the future would be developed under the plans approved by the Prime Minister.
Mr.Huong also said: “Binh Duong owns favorable natural conditions plus provincial leaders’ will being to carry out industrialization and modernization in association with urbanization for sustainable development based on social infrastructure development. But, during the local urbanization process, Binh Duong should pay attention to building urban features like statues, squares; zone a modern traffic system; have a plan on new rural construction towards industrialization and modernization; attach special importance to developing waste water treatment systems for modern urban areas.
