Tan Uyen city expands space, upgrades urban areas

After being recognized as a city, Tan Uyen is making efforts to attain more comprehensive development in all aspects. Currently, the local economy always maintains high growth, people's lives are increasingly improved, and the urban appearance is increasingly civilized and modern. The government and people of this young city are constantly utilizing existing advantages, improving unmet standards, and are determined to develop Tan Uyen City into a second-class urban area as soon as possible.

Tan Uyen City's economic and technical infrastructure is invested to become more modern.

 A changing step

The most clearly recognizable thing when coming to Tan Uyen City at this time is the change in urban appearance. This is also the result of Tan Uyen City's efforts in recent years. That is, to increase investment in technical and social infrastructure according to planning, contributing to rapidly changing the appearance of the urban area.

As a result, Tan Uyen City is making strong changes in urban development, local infrastructure becomes more spacious and modern; 100% roads in the city are asphalted. Synchronous transportation system is linked to areas inside and outside the province, including water and land transportation, port systems, stations, and warehouses. Economic and technical infrastructure gradually meet urban development requirements. Educational, medical and cultural - sports projects are invested commensurately to meet the needs of local folks.

However, the rapid pace of socio-economic development makes infrastructure planning at some times and places still unable to keep up. According to Tran Van Hai, a resident lives in Tan Hiep ward, urban infrastructure in the city receives a lot of investment attention, however, due to the rapid growth rate, it leads to overload in road traffic, environmental pollution, especially flooding during rainy seasons.

Setting the goal of upgrading Tan Uyen to second-class urban standards before 2025, the city has focused on technical infrastructure projects. Many projects have been under construction such as: Tan Uyen bus station, city funeral home, embankment along Dong Nai river (section from Rach Tre bridge to Tan Uyen City Party Committee), landslide protection embankment on Rua island, DH425 road, high school Thai Hoa, Thanh Hoi Commune Culture and Sports Center, Thanh Phuoc Kindergarten...

In addition, Provincial People's Committee has implemented investment procedures and is carrying out site clearance work for some key projects, creating favorable conditions to attract investment and develop socio-economic development in the area, like: dredging and reinforcing Cai stream from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river; construction of bridges across Dong Nai River (Bach Dang 2 Bridge), Ring Road 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway passing through Tan Uyen area... From there, opening up opportunities to enhance economic connection and trading for Tan Uyen urban area.

Build a worthy urban area

Tan Uyen City is striving to become a dynamic, beautiful and civilized city. To realize this goal, the city is currently focusing on urban planning. The city has basically completed the adjustment of Tan Uyen City general planning until 2040.

Currently, the city is urgently implementing urban upgrading to match the city scale. Focus on mobilizing all resources and effectively using investment capital to develop economic and social infrastructure systems to serve upgrading according to second-class urban criteria. In particular, to renovate and construct some typical architectural works and urban public spaces to create highlights along arterial roads; consider closing cemeteries and graveyards outside the planned area according to the roadmap to create land fund for development of public works...

Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen City People's Committee, said that the city Party Committee and authorities have been mobilizing all resources to invest in infrastructure, serve economic development, and improve people’s living standards; contributing to creating new positions and forces to promote the development of the city. To soon successfully fulfill the goal of Tan Uyen City becoming a second-class urban area, in the 2021-2025 period, Tan Uyen determines its development perspective is to exploit new advantages and potentials, and maximize mobilization of resources to invest in socio-technical economic infrastructure development in the direction of industry - service - urban - urban agriculture, facilitating trade - service development, creating a foundation for Tan Uyen to become an urban service center after 2025.

The overall goal of the city is to build and develop Tan Uyen into a major center in the southern province of Binh Duong for industry, commercial services, finance, culture - tourism, and modern new urban area, meeting the socio-economic development needs of the province.
