Loi explained that most of the poor households live on agriculture. However, owing to bad weather and price hike, these poor households encounter many more difficulties.
Therefore, the district party committee and authority have launched supportive programs for local poor households. Since the start of this year, Tan Uyen district mobilized nearly VND19bil to offer loans for over 5,000 poor families to reinforce production as well as opened 16 vocational training classes for rural laborers.
Moreover, the district has introduced jobs to 2,899 laborers and helped 90 households escape poverty. In addition, Tan Uyen district has granted 25 hi-unity houses for local disadvantaged families.
The locality has made greater efforts to reduce 159 poor households in this year. Pham Van Loi added that the locality has headed for sustainable poverty reduction.
