Tan Uyen marks 83rd founding anniversary of HCYU

Early March 17, Tan Uyen district’s Youth Union held a get-together to mark the 83rd founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) (March 26, 1931-March 26, 2014).

At the get-together, participants reviewed the development of the HCYU over the past 83 years. Upholding the glorious tradition of the HCYU, Tan Uyen district’s Youth Union constantly promoted teenager and children’s movements. The whole district has so far had 48 Youth Union branches with 7,786 Youth Union members. In 2013, the local youth got involved in many significant activities, including installing solar energy lights at district’s Martyrs’ Cemetery with a total expense of more than VND700mln; tidying up district’s Martyrs’ Cemetery; visiting and presenting gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, policy beneficiary families and those who rendered great service to the national’s revolutionary cause; teaming up with relevant agencies to carry out works on new rural construction; building and donating houses of compassion; providing free medicine for the poor and policy beneficiary families.

The district’s Youth Unions at all levels also well realized the “Green dream” scholarship program for poor children with a total expense of more than VND100mln; admitted additional 2,250 members, recommended 193 outstanding Youth Union members to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) for consideration and admission, 161 of whom were admitted into CPV.

With the above achievements, the district’s Youth Union was awarded the certificate of merit from the Central Committee of the HCYU in 2013. The district’s Youth Union and Young Pioneer Organization also continued retaining the excellent titles.

At the get-together, the organizers also awarded the mementoes “For young generation” of the Central Committee of the HCYU to 6 individuals; presented the certificates of merit of the district’s Youth Union to 37 individuals and collectives for their excellent performance in the district’s 2014 propaganda contest on revolutionary songs and 13 collectives for their active contributions to the youth work of “Installing solar energy lights at district’s Martyrs’ Cemetery”.
