On November 21, the 7th Congress of the Tan Uyen town’s Red Cross Society for the 2021-2026 term took place.
During the last term, the Executive Board of the town’s Red Cross Society has had many good, united and creative ways in its activities. The society and its branches mobilized organizations, individuals, businesses and donors to actively support resources for social charity work. As a result, the society carried out social charity activities with nearly VND 47 billion or 151% of the target set by the Resolution of the 6th Congress. The society also realized public healthcare with more than VND24.6 billion, or 196% compared to the Resolution of the 6th Congress. In addition, the society coordinated with relevant units to mobilize and organize 20 voluntary blood donations with 7,178 blood units given, an increase of 39% compared to the previous term.
The congress also elected a new Executive Committee of the society with 27 members; sorted out 20 official delegates and 3 alternates for the higher-level congress. Nguyen Thi Phuong continued being elected as Chairwoman of the 7th society for the 2021-2026 term.
On this occasion, provincial Red Cross Society awarded the certificates of merit to 7 collectives and 12 individuals. The People's Committee of Tan Uyen town also presented the certificates of merit to 7 collectives and 15 individuals who made great contributions to the local Red Cross Society’s activities and movements in the 2016-2021 term.
