Along with its economic structure shift towards the reduction of agricultural proportion and the growth of industry-service proportions, Tan Uyen district has always paid attention to giving vocational training to rural laborers to create a workforce at society’s demand, contributing to generating jobs and increase laborers’ income.

Tran Tuan Kiet, vice-chairman of Tan Vinh Hiep communal People’s Committee said that along with the district’s development process, since 2008, Tan Vinh Hiep commune has made its economic structure shift towards industry, service and agriculture. Realizing that this is an important task, Tan Vinh Hiep commune has paid more attention to giving vocational training to rural laborers.
He added that since 2003, Tan Vinh Hiep commune’s farm land has been shrunk with 790 ha used for developing the Binh Duong industry-service and urban complex project. With this momentum, many farmer households herein have changed to other many business doings. The local authorities have also cooperated with relevant agencies to open vocational training classes for rural laborers.
For its vocational training getting better results, Tan Vinh Hiep commune will take initiative in surveying and assessing the results of the task over the past time; set up a steering board for vocational training and job creation and further make a plan on vocational training and job creation between 2011 and 2015.
Vocational training to further get feasibility
Not only Tan Vinh Hiep, most communes in Tan Uyen district have also made obvious changes in the process of the local vocational training associated with poverty reduction.
Since 2007, Tan Uyen district has organized 56 vocational training classes for 1,378 learners who are rural laborers or belong to social policy beneficiary families, poor families and those near the poverty lines…
Nguyen Thi Hong, head of Tan Uyen district’s Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that through vocational training classes, locals have quickly got access to theory and practice in production-business. Most of them have sought stable jobs after graduation. But, the district’s two-in-one program has faced shortcomings for change.
If the shortcomings of the program are removed, it is sure that Tan Uyen district’s socio-economic performance will become more thriving, contributing to ensuring the local social welfare in a sustainable way.
