TDM city’s Red Cross Societies at all levels have organized a range of practical activities to mark the 154th anniversary of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Particularly, Chanh My ward’s Red Society branch held a get-together to celebrate the 154th anniversary of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement; mobilized donors to present 30 gifts worth VND 9million, comprising of 10 kg of rice, instant noodle, sugar, cooking oil, to officials and members with difficult circumstances. The Red Cross Society branches of Hiep An, Ding Hoa, Tuong Binh Hiep and Phu Tan wards also organized training courses against natural disasters; made environmental hygiene; provided free medical check-up and medicine for the poor; visited and presented gifts to officials and members with difficult circumstances.
This was a chance for those who are in charge of humanitarian work to review the long-standing history and tradition of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement; promote the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to an humanitarian address” among organizations and individuals across the city.
*Early May 7, Ben Cat town’s Red Cross Society in collaboration with Binh Duong-based Medic General Hospital and Sen Vang charity kitchen provided free medical check-ups, medicine and gifts for the poor and the elderly.
Particularly, the delegation extended best regards to 300 elderly, poor people and Agent Orange victims while providing medical check-ups and medicine for them. They were also presented gifts worth VND60.5million, including sugar, confectionary, soya sauce, cooking oil and cash.
On this occasion, Thien Tri haircut group in HCM city together with a tea shop provided free haircut and drinks for the above patients.
