TDM city Association of the Elderly, on December 20, held a conference to review its activities in 2016 and implement orientations, tasks for 2017.
In 2016, the association and its branches congratulated 1,635 members on their longevity and handed the certificates of longevity to them with a total expense of nearly VND500million; coordinated with Saigon-Binh Duong General Clinic to provide eye surgery for more than 80 members; excelled at visiting, encouraging ill members and admitted additional 1,000 members, bringing the total number of members so far to 14,967.
The association also well upheld members’ role in economic development; created useful playgrounds for them via maintaining, developing clubs and groups; mobilized them to respond to the movement of “Setting bright examples, contributing to reducing poverty and make legitimate profits” in association with “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals”, the campaign of “All people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle in residential quarters” and the movement of “Exemplary grandparents, parents and virtuous-gentle descendants”…
