Despite many difficulties, Medical Center of Thu Dau Mot City always unite to accomplish the mission of people's health caring, contributing to the successful implementation of local socioeconomic objectives.
According to TDM City Medical Center’s Director Dr. Duong Thanh My, the center has 15 specialities, 1 polyclinic, and 14 medical stations at communes, wards with 114 beds. 14/14 medical stations met national standards of health care, doctors are always available; 100% health centers have midwives or obstetric physicians; 100% quarters, hamlets have medical officials.
Since January 2013, TDM City Medical Center was established through the merger of Medical Center, Poly-Antenatal Clinic, and Population- Family Planning Center of TDM City. The merger has created many advantages, such as: governance, human resource management, medical equipment uasage…
Especially, due to the merger, medical staff has been rotated, arrange on peak days, promoting medical staff’s productivity as well as solving personnel shortage of the sector.

Implementing the 10th TDM City Party Committee Congress’s Resolution, TDM City Medical Center has got many achievements. The center has performed well health care activities, professional regulations, so there was no error affecting patient’s life. Health care procedures have been improved to welcome policy, health insurance beneficiaries, and all people. Annually, TDM City Medical Center and regional medical stations receive averagely about 600,000 patients.
In addition, TDM City Medical Center has paid much attention to preventive medicine. The center has carried out disease prevention and national target programs in health, thus the city had no epidemical outbreak. Some dangerous infectious diseases, such as: measles, hand foot and mouth disease, has been kept under control. Sanitation campaigns, propaganda of epidemic prevention, health education in the community have been developed, contributing to raising awareness of agencies, organizations, and the people about disease prevention.

Due to guidance from provincial Department of Health and TDM City People’s Committee, professional consultancy from provincial medical institutions, and the unity within medical staff, almost assigned annual targets were achieved and surpassed. Therefore, in 2013, provincial People’s Committee conferred emulation flag “Leading unit of medical centers under Department of Health” upon TDM City Medical Center.
