TDM city: social welfare ensured during Covid-19 pandemic

Many needy people across TDM city have been affected by Covid-19 pandemic. In the face of the situation, leaders of TDM city have quickly instructed sectors, localities to recheck and set up a list of needy people for timely support as stipulated while mobilizing many support resources from donors…

Needy people to be supported

TDM city’s People’s Committee has quickly conducted the city’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with the Fatherland Front Committee, related divisions, departments of the city and the People’s Committees of wards to set up a list of lottery ticket vendors in order to pay the subsidy level of VND60,000 per person per day within 15 days from April 1 after provincial People’s Committee issued a document on giving support for the above targeted people.

The city has also drastically implemented a support package on social welfare under the Government’s Resolution No.42/NQ-CP dated April 9, 2020. In addition, the city has actively coordinated with the Bank for Social Policies to advocate credit organizations taking solutions to deal with risks, helping enterprises and locals remove difficulties as stipulated; mobilized agencies, units and donors to offer help to needy families; mobilized officials, Party members and locals to take part in a text message campaign raising funds for Covid-19 prevention and control efforts..

So far, TDM city has fulfilled a list of targeted people for support during Covid-19 pandemic. The city will carry out support programs for them when receiving concrete guidance documents. It is known that the city’s People’s Committee has also promulgated the Document No.678/UBND dated Apirl 10, 2020 on rechecking and setting up a list of individual business households with the annual tax declaration under VND100million temporarily stopping operation from April 1, 2020 and laborers losing jobs without allowances for timely support.

Mobilizing community to join hands in Covid-19 prevention

Along with the State’s support policies, TDM city’s People’s Committee has guided localities to mobilize resources from the Fund for the Poor; called on organizations, individuals and donors to support rice, instant noodle, face masks, cash…for the local needy people. As of now, the whole city has had a total of more than 5,738 targeted people getting support of more than VND1.38billion…

Noticeably, more than 150 lodging facilities in the city have made the monthly rent fee exemption and reduction of more than VND697million for laborers. The city’s mass organizations have also implemented many practical activities for needy households; delivered tens of thousands of face masks, hand sanitizer to locals while guiding them how to prevent Covid-19 pandemic.

Along with the province and the whole country, TDM city has tried its utmost to well curb Covid-19 pandemic. It is hoped that with such unite efforts, the pandemic will end soon so that people can soon get a normal daily life.
