Inheriting and promoting the tradition of solidarity, unity in will and action, together with the efforts of Party committees at all levels, authorities, Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations from city to grassroots levels, the Party Committee of Thu Dau Mot (TDM) city — directly led by the Standing Committee of the city’s Party Committee — has effectively directed the implementation of the set objectives and tasks. In recognition of the remarkable achievements in 2024, provincial Party Committee awarded the Party Committee of Thu Dau Mot City with the Certificate of Merit for "Excellently Completing Assigned Tasks" in 2024.
Promoting proactivity and creativity
Building upon the achievements from the beginning of the term, in 2024 the city’s Party Committee thoroughly grasped, applied and effectively implemented the policies of the Government and the province. It proposed practical solutions that closely align with the actual situation. The city’s Party Standing Committee and grassroots Party Committees demonstrated determination, initiative, creativity and a willingness to think, act and take responsibility before the Party and the people to accelerate the successful completion of all targets set out in the Resolution of the city’s Party Congress for the 2020–2025 term.
From the beginning of the year, the Executive Committee of the city’s Party Committee focused on leading the entire political system, fostering a sense of responsibility, overcoming difficulties, promoting socio-economic development, maintaining political security and social order and taking good care of people's lives. It also continued strengthening Party building and rectification, improving the quality of political organizations and directing key areas with focus and determination. As a result, the city has effectively achieved its socio-economic development goals while ensuring national defense and security.
In 2024, the city’s total local State budget revenue reached VND 12,957.949 billion, achieving 200% of the target set by the province and the city’s People’s Council. The total value of implemented projects and fund disbursement was estimated at VND 708.888 billion, meeting 100% of the plan. The city continued leading the province in the district-level Public Administration Reform Index for 10 consecutive years. Notably, all 14 wards of the city ranked among the top administrative units in the province and led in the number of OCOP (One Commune One Product) certified products — 82 products rated 3 stars — the highest among all nine districts and cities.
By further inheriting and effectively building upon the achievements and experience of previous generations, along with unity and consensus across the entire Party Committee to create a collective strength in accomplishing political tasks, Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from provincial Party Committee for its outstanding performance in 2024. |
Along with its leadership in socio-economic development, the city’s Party Committee consistently placed great emphasis on Party building, strengthening the political system. The city's Party Committee directed the Party membership development efforts to exceed 163.04% of the assigned target; the recruitment of Party members who are workers reached 168%, those who are business owners reached 275% and the establishment of new Party cells in non-state enterprises under grassroots Party committees reached 240%. These results contributed to raising the total number of Party members in the entire city Party Committee to over 10,000 — the highest among all districts and cities in the province. One of the most notable highlights of the city’s Party Committee in 2024 was the “Morning Coffee – Dialogue with the People” model, which was honored as one of seven exemplary initiatives in the nationwide campaign of “Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh’s Thought, Morality and Lifestyle” under the program of “Ho Chi Minh – A Journey of Aspirations 2024”.
Rising with the nation
In 2024, the city’s Party Committee launched the “Greening Thu Dau Mot city” campaign, aiming at building a green and friendly city from 2024 to 2030 and beyond. The campaign received widespread support from the public, religious organizations and businesses. Additionally, the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment officially recognized several trees in the city — located in the campus of the city’s People's Committee, the city’s Party Committee, local temples and other cultural sites — as part of Vietnam’s Heritage Trees.
The year 2024 also saw numerous cultural and artistic events in the city. A special Party resolution on cultural and sports development, issued by the city’s Party Committee, created a breakthrough in promoting activities that enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the people. Notably, some events were organized for the first time in the city such as an artistic water music show on the Saigon River themed Thu Dau Mot – Steadfast Towards the Future, the “Route of Dipterocarpus Trees” running race, attracting over 20,000 participants, the performance contest of “Traditional Southern Vietnamese Wedding Rituals”, “Drone light” shows, “Hot air balloon” performances at the city’s walking street park…All these events drew tens of thousands of residents and visitors in and out of the province…Further inheriting and building upon the achievements and experience of previous generations, promoting solidarity and unity across the entire Party Committee, Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee successfully fulfilled its political tasks and was once again honored by provincial Party Committee with the certificate of merit for "Excellently Completing Assigned Tasks" in 2024.
In response to the Politburo and Secretariat’s policy on merging certain provincial-level administrative units and eliminating district-level authorities and merging commune-level units, Thu Dau Mot city is actively preparing for the reorganization of administrative units at the ward level. This is a major task that significantly affects the local governance structure and administrative operations. The city’s Party Committee is currently leading the entire political system to focus on completing the reorganization process and thoroughly preparing necessary steps to ensure that the newly merged wards can operate stably and serve the people and businesses effectively.
It is believed that with the spirit of solidarity, consensus and strong determination, the newly established wards of the city will build upon the achievements of Thu Dau Mot city, continuing writing new chapters in its development journey. They will contribute to the prosperous and beautiful growth of the homeland, playing an important role in the nation’s overall progress and helping Vietnam step confidently into a new era — an era of national rise and renewal.
