*Offering nearly VND 96 million to needy students
With the spirit of "mutual love and affection", helping each other to overcome difficulties, Thu Dau Mot (TDM) city’s Red Cross Society has just organized a delegation to visit and donate gifts to disadvantaged households and elderly people in Go Dau district’s Go Dau town in Tay Ninh province.
With the support of donors, on this occasion, the city’s Red Cross Society offered 70 gifts worth VND400,000 each, comprising of rice, instant noodles and other essential necessities, to the above subjects. Although their material value was not great, these gifts were the sentiment of those doing charity work and donors towards disadvantaged people in the society.
In addition to activities taking care of the local disadvantaged people, the city’s Red Cross Society has offered help to needy cases outside the province, contributing to helping them get conditions to rise up in life.
*On March 7, a representative of Dong Hoa ward’s Red Cross Society in Di An city visited and donated money to Tran Le Diem Nguyen suffering from the fifth stage of kidney failure in Tan Quy quarter.
Nguyen is currently a 10th grader, orphaned, and lives with her 80-year-old grandmother together with younger brother. Her situation is very difficult. She must do kidney dialysis 3 times a week with the cost of about VND5 million. Knowing her difficult situation, the ward’s Red Cross Society mobilized donors to support her kidney dialysis.
