Early March 8, the Women’s Unions of TDM city, Phu Giao and Dau Tieng districts held get-togethers to commemorate the 1,975th anniversary of the Trung sisters’ Uprising and the 105th anniversary of International Women’s Day.
*In TDM city, delegates reviewed the tradition of International Women’s Day (March 8), highlighted the heroic spirit of the two Trung sisters and Vietnamese women’s glorious feats of arms during the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism.
Upholding the above nice tradition, the local women have constantly studied and creatively worked in all aspects. Movements launched by the local Women’s Union have reached high efficiency. In 2014 alone, the local Women’s Unions at all levels helped 1,094 women get more than VND6.5bln in loan; mobilized women to help each other with a total value of more than VND2.4bln; helped 139 female-headed households rise up out of poverty; mobilized organizations and individuals to build 7 houses of compassion…
On this occasion, 9 collectives and 16 individuals were honored for their good performance in the patriotic emulation movement of the 2010-2015 period.
*In Phu Giao district, under the patriotic emulation movement of the 2010-2015 period, the local Women’s Unions at all levels excellently fulfilled all entrusted tasks. Particularly, there were more than 98% of cadres and 94% of members meeting 3 criteria of the emulation movement of “Women actively study, creatively work and build up happy families”. The campaign of “Building up families with “5 No-s and 3 Clean-s” in association with the new rural construction program created favorable conditions for women to develop economic models, contributing to improving their lives. Over the past five years, nearly 2,300 female-headed households with difficult circumstances were offered help and so far, 1,220 of them have risen up out of poverty.
On this occasion, 5 collectives and 46 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial Women’s Union. Many other outstanding collectives and individuals in the emulation movements of the 2010-2015 period also received the certificates of merit of the People’s Committee of Phu Giao district, the district’s Women’s Union.
*Over the past five years, Dau Tieng district’s Women’s Unions at all levels well realized programs and patriotic emulation movements. They helped all female-headed households with difficulties get loans; introduced jobs to 815 women; provided more than VND86bln in preferential loan for 8,833 women…They also actively responded to the campaign of “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals” via many significant programs…
On this occasion, 15 collectives and 43 individuals were honored for their achievements in the patriotic emulation movement of the 2010-2015 period. The local Women’s Union also praised 20 cadres over periods.
