Building on the achievements of the “All People Unite to Build Cultural Life” movement, from 2020 to 2024, the campaign in Thu Dau Mot (TDM) city has continued seeing positive progress. With the close direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the coordinated efforts of various departments, socio-political organizations and the enthusiastic participation of the people, many innovative models and creative approaches have been implemented. These efforts have positively impacted all aspects of social life, contributing to building a civilized, modern and affectionate city.
Practical models
To ensure the campaign's effectiveness, local authorities, mass organizations and departments in TDM city have actively implemented many practical and innovative models. Notably, the city’s Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) has coordinated with relevant units to implement the campaign in connection with the movement of “All People Unite to Build New Rural and Civilized Urban Areas”.

According to Truong Thi Thu Hien, Chairwoman of TDM city’s FFC, during the 2020–2024 period, the city’s FFC and its branches maintained 112 existing models and developed 117 new ones. Particularly, there were 147 environmental protection and climate change response teams with 10,620 members (including 29 teams among religious and ethnic communities with 950 members); 118 “Civilized – Green – Clean – Beautiful” roads; the “Motorbike Taxi Group for Urban Civility” model; the “Compassionate arm – Supporting the Poor”; the Great Solidarity Park; the Knowledge Connection Park; online communication handbooks; digital suggestion boxes – listening to the people's opinions; the team for “Public Education on Waste Sorting at Source”; the “Urban Security and Environmental Sanitation Surveillance Camera Streets”; cultural housing areas that promote good speech and good deeds; “Compassionate lodging facilities”; the Charity Fund model to support patients from poor, near-poor or especially difficult households; the “Savings Day – for Policy Families in Difficult Situations” initiative; the Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival – a cultural, compassionate and environmentally friendly festival featuring various humanitarian activities, making it a unique “Free Festival” in Binh Duong province.
These models have empowered citizens to take part in environmental protection, social support, public order and the promotion of cultural values, helping build cultural families, cultural lodging facilities, cultural quarters and model wards that meet the criteria of civilized urban areas.
Further upholding the movement’s effectiveness
Tran Bao Lam, Vice Chairman of TDM city’s People's Committee affirmed that among the numerous emulation movements initiated by the political system in the city, the “All People Unite to Build Cultural Life” campaign and family affairs were at the center over the past five years (2020–2024). This reflects a comprehensive approach to leadership and execution, with the goal of building a rich cultural life, ensuring people’s material well-being.
Focusing on the goal of enhancing the quality of the movement by improving the standards of cultural titles, TDM city has given priority to promoting public awareness to raise the overall quality of the movement. The city’s steering committee assigned members to be in charge of specific wards, conducting inspections and urging timely resolution of local difficulties related to the movement. The whole city has launched widespread communication campaigns to promote the implementation of cultural standard criteria, contributing to raising public awareness of “Living and working in accordance with the Constitution and the law”. In particular, communication and advocacy efforts have been integrated to encourage residents to comply with legal regulations on noise pollution such as the use of portable loudspeakers, incorporating these rules into community conventions. These regulations are applied as part of the evaluation process for awarding cultural titles such as “Cultural Family”, “Cultural quarter”, “Outstanding Ward” and “Ward Meeting the Standards of a Civilized Urban Area”.
Many agencies, units and businesses have consistently maintained good practices in environmental sanitation, responded proactively to climate change, launched the “Green Office” movement, ensured food safety & hygiene and effectively carried out administrative reforms.
Thanks to the active involvement of the entire political system and the unity and joint efforts of people from all strata, the movement of "All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life" in TDM city achieved many positive results during the 2020–2024 period. Specifically, during this period, 259,723 out of 262,770 families across the city were recognized with the title of “Cultural Family”. According to leaders of the city, this figure clearly reflects the strong consensus and sense of responsibility of each household in building a healthy cultural environment.
In addition, all 118 residential quarters in the city have been recognized as “Cultural quarters”. This 100% achievement rate has been consistently maintained over the years, affirming a strong transformation in urban living standards. Furthermore, 99.1% of rental housing areas meet cultural standards—an encouraging result that contributes to improving the quality of life for this specific group of residents. Currently, 13 out of 14 wards have met the criteria for a “Civilized Urban Ward”. This outcome marks a significant step forward in building and developing the city in a civilized and modern direction while preserving the unique identity of TDM.
According to Tran Bao Lam, Vice Chairman of TDM city’s People's Committee, the achievements of the cultural life movement over the past five years clearly demonstrate the power of unity and collaboration between the political system and the people—working together towards the goal of building a civilized, modern and compassionate TDM. For the movement to continue serving as a driving force for sustainable development, in addition to thoroughly implementing relevant resolutions, intensifying public communication and making comprehensive investment in cultural and sports infrastructure, all-level authorities, sectors, mass organizations and localities across the city need to continue promoting and expanding effective models. Outstanding models and exemplary individuals should be recognized and widely promoted, becoming shining examples for the community to follow. |
Under the movement of “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life”, Phu My ward has developed new and effective models. Notably, the model of “Morning Coffee – Dialogue with the People” was first introduced in Phu My ward’s quarter 5 and received strong support and positive feedback from local residents. Building on its initial success, the “Morning Coffee – Dialogue with the People” model has so far been expanded across the entire city.
