On the afternoon of April 3, Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) solemnly held a ceremony to announce the decision and receive the certificate of educational quality accreditation at the educational institution level - cycle 2.
The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Pernament Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda and Education Commission. For Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), there were Assoc. Prof - Dr. Vu Hai Quan, member of the Party Central Committee, Director of VNU-HCM.
Previously, the VNU-HCM’s Education Accreditation Center established a delegation to survey at TDM city. The school's 2nd cycle accreditation process was conducted under the scientific and professional monitoring, survey, analysis and evaluation from an independent accrediting organization, including many scientists, educational administrators and reputable inspection experts. All aspects of the school's activities were checked and compared to a set of 25 standards and 111 criteria on strategy, systematicity, functional performance and operational results. As a result, the delegation agreed to recognize TDMU as a unit meeting educational quality standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Up to now, TDMU has had 20 training programs meeting MOET standards, 8 training programs meeting AUN-QA standards. The school has reached the UPM 4-star standard; ranked 20th among Vietnam’s universities under the Webometics assessment system on March, 2023; ranked 15th in the top 100 universities under the Vietnam University Rankings on March, 2023.
