Early March 3, Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU) held a ceremony to announce provincial People's Committee's decision on the appointment of the new Chairman of the school. The event was attended by Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee.
At the event, provincial People's Committee announced the decision for Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Chairman of TDMU’s Council for the 2023-2028 term to step down and retire early, effective March 1, 2025. The committee also recognized election results, officially appointing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh, Director of provincial Department of Information and Communications as the new Chairman of the TDMU’s Council for the 2023-2028 term, starting from March 1, 2025.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, former Chairman of TDMU’s Council and Assoc.Prof. Dr. Le Tuen Anh, the newly appointed Chairman, performed the handover signing ceremony. This marked the official transition of responsibilities and the continuation of efforts to advance the university in the new phase.
Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the trust placed in him by provincial leaders and the university. "This trust serves as a motivation for me to continue dedicating myself and working alongside the university to fulfill its mission of education, research and community service. In my new role, I will strive relentlessly for the strong and sustainable development of TDMU. I will also build upon the achievements and successes already attained, fostering unity within the university to successfully accomplish all assigned tasks and pursue even greater development goals in the future", he stated.
On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr.Thanh expressed gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong’s contributions to the development of TDMU over the past years. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the organizational structure to meet the university’s needs for evolvement. In his new role, provincial leaders trust that Assoc.Prof. Dr. Le Tuan Anh will continue demonstrating his capabilities, fostering unity within the university, effectively implementing development strategies and training programs to supply high-quality human resources for the province’s socio-economic growth in the coming period.
