The gifts were more precious in the sense that they encourage them to get through in life. Thus, local people were so eager for the visit.Mrs. Le Thi Nang, a blind residing at Phu Loi of Thu Dau Mot City, said: “I could not do much in life. Aside from VND 340,000 of monthly allowances, my children and grandchildren give me some more to get through. Every time I receive a gift, it’s greatest joy in life.”The day of receiving gift was over-joy for Le Thi Hoa residing at An Phu Ward of Thuan An Town. She said: “Every year, I receive charity gift from you so that mom can buy me new clothes.” Hoa is now 11 years old girl with a yearning wish for a career later in life.Mrs. Tran Thi Lien, Chair of Provincial Red Cross, said that the gifts were to encourage people in Tet.Sharing the spring with children in border areasPassing through curvy dirt roads, the charity delegations of Provincial Red Cross, Binh Duong Charity Group, and Happy Kids Corporation reached the area bordering Cambodia where Hung My Elementary School resided at Phuoc Chi Commune of Trang Bang District, Tay Ninh Province.The old school offers classes for 18 students in four grades. Mr. Le Thanh Son, the Principal of the school, informed that Hung My Elementary School had 3 campuses and the place was of fewest students who were mainly poorest.Thus, the gifts were precious to them.On the date of gift offering, Nguyen Trong Vinh, student of Class 4C was present every early. Vinh was the youngest child of his family of two older sisters working to support the family. Poverty was persisting, thus, receiving gifts before Tet was his greatest joy.Like many other school students in the border areas, Ho Ngoc My, a grade 5 student, is dependent on rice crops. For Tet, they have to be under burdens to make ends meet.Son said that the efforts of charity drives were to support and encourage them to go to school.
