*Train, bus tickets offered to disadvantaged workers
On the afternoon of January 8, the Southern Working Committee of Vietnam Women's Union coordinated with the Women's Unions of Binh Duong, Tay Ninh provinces, Military Zone 7, Army Corps 4 to organize a program "Warm and loving spring" to give Tet gifts for orphans with difficult circumstances, female workers who cannot return to their hometowns for Tet and women with difficult circumstances in Binh Duong, Tay Ninh provinces and Ho Chi Minh city at the Military Command of Ben Cat town.

The event was attended by Truong My Hoa, former Vice-President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice-President of Vietnam Women's Union; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.
The program included activities to celebrate the spring, give Tet gifts for 150 disadvantaged children, donate funds to 5 orphans, due to traffic accidents, give gifts worth VND900,000 each for 200 female workers who can’t afford to return their hometowns. At the event, there were also folk games, lion dance performance items, and booths "Spring gifts for children". Each child is given a gift worth VND 1 million together with a lucky money envelope of VND 500,000. The organizers also opened booths "spring market", "spring kitchen". Each woman participating in the program was given a gift worth VND 400,000... The total cost for the program "Warm and loving spring" in Binh Duong, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh city is over VND 2.2 billion. Of the total figure, more than VND 1.4 billion was spent in Binh Duong province. And the Women's Union of Binh Duong province also mobilized VND 563 million in gifts.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Thao thanked Mrs. Hoa, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and sponsors for implementing this warm and meaningful program. *On the evening of January 7, provincial Youth Union organized the program "Connecting the arms of love" to visit, encourage and give gifts for children at charity classes, offspring of young workers with difficult circumstances.
Accordingly, the delegation visited charity classes in Hiep Thanh, Chanh My wards, and visited the offspring of young Khmer workers in Thu Dau Mot city’s Tan An ward. In each visiting place, representative of the delegation extended best regards and encouraged these children, wished them a joyful and happy new year while giving each of them a Tet gift worth VND 300,000 and a lucky money envelope of VND 100,000.
*On January 8, the Trade Unions of Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Parks Union (VSIP) and provincial Textile -Garment sector held the 2023 program "Tet reunion - Spring cohesion" and gave Tet gifts for trade unionists and workers who can’t afford to return their hometowns for Tet.
At the event, the Trade Union of Binh Duong Textile and Garment sector gave representatives of the units 500 out of 4,000 Tet gifts worth VND 1 million in cash and Tet calendar each; offered 200 gift vouchers at the trade union Tet market for trade unionists with extremely difficult circumstances with a total value of VND 60 million.
The Trade Union of VSIP presented representatives of the units with 400 gifts out of 8,000 Tet gifts worth VND 1 million in cash together with necessities worth nearly VND 300,000 each for workers who can’t return home for Tet; gave 560 round-trip train tickets, 155 bus tickets for poor trade unionists and workers with extremely difficult circumstances to return to their hometowns for Tet. In addition, during the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2023, the Trade Union of VSIP donated 400 Tet gifts worth VND 500,000 in cash each from its budget and mobilized businesses to support essential goods with a total value of VND250 million for trade unionists members and workers with extremely difficult circumstances.
