It is predicted that the number of people travelling domestically and overseas during the 2011 lunar New Year (Tet) holiday will see increase, due to the Tet holiday prolonged.
To meet the growing travel demand, especially at Tet time, travel companies have launched a lot of new tours that are very interesting with reasonable prices to absorb tourists.
Da Lat remains an ideal destination for tourists
Pham Phu Thy, deputy director of Vietravel Binh Duong said: “Vietravel Binh Duong has received more 7,000 visitors booking Tet tours, a year-on year increase of 25%. Nearly 90% of inbound and outbound Tet tours, which departs from Dec.29 to Jan.6 in the lunar calendar, have closed early, but Vietravel Binh Duong has still seen increase in the number of people booking Tet tours. Tet tours to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Da Nang-Hue-Hoi An, Ha Noi-Ha Long, Ha Noi-Sapa are highly booked.The prices of Tet tours have increased by 15-30 per cent over normal days because of higher transport and accommodation costs, but the number of travelers booking tours to Europe, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Hongkong this Tet has still increased by 20%-30% compared to that of last year. Noticeably, Tet tours to China will lure more Vietnamese tourists.
This year’s Tet tours will start early and close later than the previous years, (from Dec.28 to Jan.15 of the lunar calendar). According to travel companies, some Tet tours will depart on the first day of the 2011 lunar New Year…
