Thai Hoa township farmers busy with flower growing for Tet

As usual, flower growers in Thai Hoa township's Tan Ba and Ba Dinh quarters in Tan Uyen district are in lunar September busy with farming work to plant flowers for Tet holiday. At Tan Ba quarter, a locality famous for flower and vegetable growing, 90% of land in the locality is for flower growing in service for Tet holiday, said Thai Hoa township Farmers' Society vice chairman Nguyen The My.   Breeding flowers are going to be grown for the coming Tet holiday.Introduced by the chairman, we visited flower garden of farmer Muoi Thien. With more than 20 years of growing breeding flowers for Tet holiday, Muoi Thien has prepared tools for his cultivation. According to Muoi Thien, local farmers often grow Marigold flower to sell on Tet holiday but this kind of the flower has many various varieties such as Thailand marigold, Sa Dec marigold... In addition, some farmers grow more Gladiolus flower, so he produces more this kind to offer breedings for local farmers. Muoi Thien offers nurslings not only for local farmers but growers in other provinces such as Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc... Muoi Thien shared "Growing Marigold flower must focus on weather and nutrition to blossom in time.Flower growing for Tet season is a main income for local farmers. Luong Van Thanh, head of Ba Dinh quarter Farmers' Society, said "Flower growing in Tan Ba and Ba Dinh quarters has appeared for a long time. With the current price, each marigold pot prices at VND3,500-4,000 and this price can bring profit for local growers. On average, growers will enjoy about VND20mil/ha. The profit is higher than rice growing".Flower growing in Tan Ba in particular and Thai Hoa township in general has yet to develop compared to other localities but it offers a large volume of flower for the province on Tet season. If having assistance on capital and technique, Tan Ba and Ba Dinh will be a flower village in the years to come. In flower crop for this year's Tet holiday Ta Uyen district will assist capital for all flower growing households in Thai Hoa township to plant Gladiolus flower. This kind of flower is loved by many people. It is hoped that this flower will bring high income for growers.Reported by P.An - Translated by A.C
