In the last tenure, Thanh Hoi commune received more attention from the province and the district in building and expanding its traffic system. Especially, the Thanh Hoi bridge project was completed, contributing to promoting the local economic development. The commune also mobilized the local people to make 3 rural roads of 1,200m; built 21 gratitude, charity and unity houses; mobilized donors to give financial support for setting up martyrs’ memorial stele…
Regarding economic development, the commune’s total area under cultivation always fulfilled and exceeded the annual plan. Many training courses on sci-tech advancements and crops-and-animal restructuring for the local farmers were also organized. In addition, the commune’s animal husbandry sector saw stable development.
The commune also reaped positive results in terms of health and education. Particularly, the commune’s health station was doctorized, which contributed to well realizing the local public healthcare and the national health programs. However, Thanh Hoi commune has still faced shortcomings for change. Nguyen Tien Hung, deputy chief of the communal Party Committee said: “In the first half of 2010, the commune had 12 households free from poverty under the new poverty line. Its Party Committee will strive to eradicate poverty to the 18 remaining poor households for the rest of the year…”.
In the next tenure, Thanh Hoi commune’s Party Committee will promote high-tech-based agricultural development and eco-tourism. Accordingly, the commune will pay special attachment to fostering cultivated plants with high economic value; carry out the pilot models on growing clean vegetable and ornamental flower; brace up the local farmers to breed valuable animals for tourist development…
