Reaching 13 out of 19 criteria in line with the local program on building new rural areas, Tan Uyen district’s Thanh Phuoc commune has led in economic development from other localities.
Huynh Van Danh, vice chairman of the communal Farmer Society introduced high income fields in Du Khanh hamlet. Many farmer households have escaped poverty thanks to vegetable fields. Notably, Pham Van Loc has reaped over VND13mil within 2 months from vegetable fields. In the past year, he won over VND50mil from an eggplant crop. Many local farmers admire him because of his capacity of good production.
Danh added that expanded inter-field routes in the hamlet have contributed to help local farmers transport farm produce easily. At present, the communal agricultural land area has been narrowed but its output and productivity are still high up to 5.6 tons per ha. Results are thanks to local farmers’ usage of new seeds and new farming technique as well as technical transfer from local farmer society.
Ho Mong Hai, an agricultural engineer has bravely invested hundreds of millions of VND in automatic watering system for safe vegetable planting. Despite double price from other vegetables, his vegetable products are sold out after harvest crop.
Applying technique into agricultural production has helped change living standards in Thanh Phuoc commune. Tran Minh Bang, vice chairman of the communal People’s Committee, said the local agricultural industrial production values reach VND18bil/year, VND121bil/year, respectively whilst average income wins VND22mil per capita per year…
Bang added that compared with the national criteria of new rural building, the commune reaches 13 out of 19 criteria. The locality failed to excel criteria of irrigation, cultural materials, rural market, traffic, post office and environment… These are challenges the locality must encounter in the coming time.
It is hoped that local authority and people will improve difficulties soon and enjoy a sustainable development in the near future.
