From September 15, together with majority universities across the country, universities in the province have simultaneously announced matriculation scores based on consideration of high school graduation exam scores in 2022 and other methods. In addition to a few schools that have increased benchmarks in some majors this year, the rest have the same admission point as last year.
Successful candidates come to Thu Dau Mot University to complete admission procedures.
Benchmarks fluctuate
After universities in the province announced the official university entrance scores in 2022 based on high school graduation exam scores, the matriculation scores of some schools this year have increased compared to this in 2021. At Thu Dau Mot University, compared with the entrance exam 2021, the matriculation score in 2022 increased by an average of 0.5 to 1 point; the biggest increase was in multimedia faculty, up 6 points compared to the previous year (23 points).
Le Dang Hoa, Admissions Center Director of Thu Dau Mot University, said that this year's admission score increased due to the high number of candidates’ applications and small slots. Therefore, only students with outstanding ability are admitted to faculties they love. The school is also more confident when quality of their input is heightened.
In addition to the increased benchmark scores due to the large number of applications, some specific majors with great attraction and high job opportunities after graduation also set higher benchmarks than other majors. For Thu Dau Mot University, the faculty that has the highest admission score is primary education, with 25 points. Meanwhile, schools that offer pharmacy education programs also have quite high standards.
At Binh Duong University, the benchmark for admission in most majors is 15 points. Particularly in pharmacy, a candidate must achieve 21 points for admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam and high school study results, and 500 points at the competency assessment exam of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City.
The admission score for the pharmacy faculty of Binh Duong University of Economics and Technology also increased by 6-7 points compared to other majors. Specifically, the matriculation score according to the results of the high school graduation exam is 21 points; 24 points according to the consideration of academic transcripts; and 750 points if the candidate took the competency assessment test of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
This year, the benchmark score for admission to Eastern International University according to the results of the high school graduation exam 2022 ranges from 15 to 19 points, of which nursing faculty has the highest standard, with 19 points. Among 7 majors of this school, nursing is also the one that receives the most attention of candidates After the first batch of students confirmed their enrolment on the system of Ministry of Education and Training and complete the admission procedures, the school will consider additional admissions for majors that still have slots. Currently, the school is considering additional admissions by two ways: academic records and competency assessment scores of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Meanwhile, Admission Council of Engineers and Engineers School - Ngo Quyen University announced the benchmark score for admission to Military University in 2022 (252 slots) according to the results of the high school graduation exam. Namely, the school recruits 164 male students from the North with a benchmark score of 23.5 points and 88 students from the South with a benchmark score of 21.4. This year, the school's benchmark slightly decreases compared to in 2021.
Candidates rush to complete admission procedures
According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, before 5:00 p.m. of September 17, universities will announce first batch’s students that are admitted. From September 18 to before 5:00 p.m. of September 30, these students must confirm their enrollment online on the system of Ministry of Education and Training. This is a mandatory that students must perform before entering the school. Ngo Hong Diep, Vice Rector of Thu Dau Mot University, recommended that students who has confirmed online enrollment still has to apply for admission directly at the university according to the prescribed time. This is a mandatory requirement, if a student skip this step, he/she will not be able to enter the school.
With the above regulations, as soon as the admission list was announced, even though it was on the weekend, students everywhere in and outside the province went to universities to complete admission procedures. At Thu Dau Mot University, last Sunday, the school campus was crowded with students coming to do admission procedures. Due to the large number of students, the school assigned officers to guide students right from the gate and arranged many reception desks in the application area.
Many parents in other provinces and cities also followed their children to school to complete the procedures. Parents of Nguyen Ngoc Tram, from Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), said that Tram applied to the school by high school graduation exam score. With over 18 points, Tram was admitted to biotechnology faculty. After completing the admission procedures, Tram paid tuition fee for the first semester.
It was similar at other universities, from September 17, numerous students came to schools for admission procedures. To facilitate students and parents, Binh Duong University of Economics and Technology carefully prepared everything to welcome and guide them. Through the school's information channels, students mastered the information, hence the procedures took place quickly.
Similarly, students everywhere also gathered at Binh Duong University to complete admission procedures. The students were guided by school officers to complete admission documents and informed about the schedule of each faculty. For those who are from outside the province, the school introduced and encouraged them to register for a dormitory.
According to the announcements of schools, successful students may come directly to schools to do the admission procedures from September 17 to 5:00 p.m. of September 30. Because schools consider university admissions in many ways, some schools organize for students to start studying before September 30, while others officially start the new school year in early October.
