The beauty of harmony between music and martial arts

The combination of music and martial arts performance has created an attractive playground, honoring the cultural value of martial arts. In recent years, many martial arts sects in Binh Duong have blended music with martial arts performances, bringing freshness and excitement to promote the quintessence of martial arts.

Martial arts have always played a crucial role in Binh Duong's sports culture. The province has long been recognized as a hub for athletic excellence, excelling in both competitive sports and community-based activities. Especially, traditional martial arts have become an indispensable part of the province’s sports training system, significantly contributing to national and international achievements.

A martial arts music performance at the Martial Arts Music Festival, highlighting the essence of Vietnamese and global martial arts

One of the most significant events in early 2025 was the first provincial "music and martial arts” festival in celebration of the Party and Lunar New Year 2025. The festival gathered over 200 athletes from 15 martial arts organizations across the province. The festival is not only an opportunity for martial artists to demonstrate their talents, but also an opportunity for the public to enjoy the unique combination of martial arts and music, highlighting the beauty of martial arts in Vietnam and the world.

Nguyen Nhat Tam, a martial artist of Shaolin Long Phi Binh Duong sect said that practicing martial arts requires focus on technique and speed. But when practicing martial arts, martial artists must practice in rhythm with the music. It took more than 2 months of practice for me to be able to perform an item with combination between martial arts-music fluently. Incorporating music into martial arts exercises not only helps martial artists improve their health, but also refreshes exercises that can easily become boring if only performed with pure techniques", Nhat Tam said.

According to Grandmaster Nguyen Minh Tri, Head of Binh Duong Shaolin Long Phi sect, once you have mastered the exercises, repeating them many times can easily cause boredom. Therefore, incorporating music into training adds excitement and enthusiasm, encouraging martial artists to continue practicing with passion. In recent years, he has chosen suitable music to combine with martial arts exercises, creating freshness and appeal.

Martial arts-music in Binh Duong is gradually becoming a trend that promotes the development of martial arts and creates new playgrounds, attracting public interest. Especially with the attention and investment from relevant authorities, events like the Martial Arts Music Festival are increasingly organized on a larger and more professional scale, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Vietnam’s martial arts culture in the modern era.
