The community join hands to prevent and combat nCoV outbreak

It can be said that, more than ever, we need to understand correctly and raise awareness of the prevention of acute respiratory infections caused by novel Corona virus (2019-nCoV). We must be calm, do proactive prevention, avoid infection, should not be too afraid, pessimistic and unleashed false news to cause more confusion among people.

Students of Vietnam - Korea Binh Duong College see the school's notice on nCoV outbreak prevention.

From the right understanding of the epidemic

While there are some people who profited from speculating medical equipment, some people just heard stories from rumors and then spread bad news on social networks, many people who are journalists, doctors, students have been using social networks very actively and responsibly. They analyze, give information to people to catch news every hour, every minute to feel more secure.

For example, the following content from a journalist after a press conference hosted by Ministry of Health on Feb 2: Those are the specific lines of information: All the deaths were in Wuhan. There were two deaths outside of China but returned also from Wuhan...

Regarding Vietnam's treatment regimen asymptotic to the world. Most patients only treat through symptoms. The only patient, who is Chinese, had many medical problems so the hospital allows oxygen, no need for mechanical breathing. Currently, three patients are discharged from the hospital with simple treatment, because there is no specific remedy.

Coronavirus is afraid of light and wind, so people should open windows to welcome light and wind into house. A person, who is infected with coronavirus, after being cured (possibly) is immune for 2 years. There is no possibility of a person has just recovered then is infected again. Medical masks should only be worn with sick people and people who are in close contact with sick persons. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends washing hands with soap several times a day, because according to our habit, our hands have movements to touch the face every 10 minutes. Sneezing, runny nose, cough can project the virus within 1.8m. WHO recommends standing far away of over 1m from people with clinical manifestations to prevent infection.

There may be persons who have very mild symptoms that are muscle aches, a slight fever or a small cough but actually get nCoV, causing easily overlooking some cases... Ministry of Health is directing central hospitals to prepare for the worst case of the widespread disease. Central hospitals are preparing for more than 3,000 saving beds. Hanoi has nearly 2,000 beds in reserve for the nCoV outbreak...

To the people's consciousness

From the correct understanding of this epidemic, people can take the initiative in preventing the epidemic for themselves and their relatives in the most positive way. People have become more aware of self-hygiene, reasonable diet and rest to increase the body's resistance.

These days, in public places such as supermarkets, pagodas and shrines that have religious and folk activities, the rate of people wearing regular masks and medical masks is 100%. On Feb 5, at provincial Co.op Mart Supermarket, all employees as well as customers worn masks. Thuy Van, a customer who worn a normal cloth mask when shopping in the supermarket, answered the question why not wearing a medical mask: “A few days ago, because I did not know the exact information and how to prevent nCoV outbreak, I also bought medical masks at pharmacies. But now I know that I can wear a normal mask, just wash and clean it regularly, so I feel more secure. When people are not too anxious, they don't buy so many medical masks, then the market will not have virtual fever of this product.

At Chanh Nghia Primary School (Thu Dau Mot City), in recent days, teachers took turns to collaborate with militia, civil servants of Chanh Nghia ward as well as health authorities to carry out disinfection and cleaning the entire campus and classrooms many times.  All have good sense of keeping environmental hygiene during the time when students are temporarily absent from school. When people are self-aware and remind each other like that, the prevention of nCoV outbreak will be very effective.

The nCoV epidemic is having unpredictable developments, we need to be calm, have proper understanding and take initiative in prevention, control of this epidemic, and actively respond to situations. All are aimed at drastically and effectively preventing nCoV epidemic.
