They are the 7 examples of endeavors and efforts to overcome harsh situations for learning.
The life story of Tran Thi Ngoc Huyen, a trainee in poverty residing at Tuong Binh Hiep Ward of Thu Dau Mot City, is so emotional. Huyen’s father was inflicted by cerebral vascular accident, forcing her family to mortgage their house to finance the treatment. Life becomes so hard for her that she had to quit her learning and went to the city to make ends meet. On daily basis, she has been so into her work; however, seeing her peers getting to school makes her miss her time at school. Not giving up, she has been determined to follow her schooling by graduating from junior high school in 2013 at the time when most of her peers have graduated from universities and employed. However, her fate was to face the reality of her father’s death. She was in deep sorrow to see her mother working for payment of VND 2 million a month at a food meal store. She has been pursuing her schooling at Binh Duong Provincial Center for continual education. And her efforts and endeavors have paid off by Sao Khue Award granted to her for excellent results of literature.
Students of vocational schools of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces receive Nhat Nghe Tinh Scholarship
In different shoes, Nguyen Thi Kim Dung from Khanh Hoa has settled down in Binh Duong Province for working with as harsh family background. Her father left the family as she was a child and her mother re-married. Her life could not get any better as her step-father became alcoholic with mild mental disorders while her mother has to do manual work to win the bread for her family. Feeling for her, she has made her best in learning to prepare for a good job to finance her family. On receiving the scholarship, Dung was so happy and encouraged to fall for more efforts and endeavors.
Tran Thi Thanh Dung, an accounting trainee of Binh Duong Junior College of Economics, is in the same situation when her mother passed away in her two. Her father had been working to support the two of them and by his 13, he father was killed by a heart attack. Then, they had to live with their aunt. Being aware of her situation, she has made non-stop efforts to emerge for brighter future.
Upholding the spirit of emergence from hardship, Nguyen Ngoc Tien at An Hoa Quarter of Hoa Loi Ward in Ben Cat Town won the admiration of local people. In her Grade 10 of schooling, her parents got divorced. Her mother works as a cook at a kindergarten with payments of VND 2 million a month. Knowing her family circumstance, she refused to follow university but got employed to finance and care for her younger sibling. In 3 years of working for money, she realized that only schooling help her change the current life. Currently, she is following her school while working part-time jobs at cafeterias to sustain the expenses and costs. Tien maintain her position of distinction students with excellent achievements in activities of Youth’s League and unions.
It is hard to tell all the stories of studious as they are in different situations, some may have lost their fathers, mothers or even both, some may have to face the reality that their parents are in illness; however, the situations fail to bar them from schooling. The reality fails to turn them down but it actually encourages them to have better learning achievements for their dreams. Their situations and learning achievements have become so inspiring. And Nhat Nghe Tinh Scholarship honors their efforts while contributing to offer more workers to labor market, affirming the message that university is not the only choice for advancement.
