The impression of health-caring for the elderly

The program of health-caring for the elderly co-sponsored by Central Association of Vietnamese Youths, Association of Young Vietnamese Physicians, and Nhat Nhat Co. Ltd. shall be implemented across 63 provinces and cities nationwide from August 3 to November 1, 2014.

In Binh Duong Province, the program was impressive of young people devotion and enthusiasm.

In early morning, the My Phuoc General Hospital in Ben Cat Town was overcrowded with elderly people pending for their turns of health-checking and free medicines.

The Youth’s League members were all out ready to welcome them to the health-checking site and take care of them until their leaving.

The physicians not only offered thorough service but also consultancy on health-caring by oneself.

The health-caring program for the elderly in Binh Duong Province was held in 3 localities of Ben Cat Town, Thuan An Town and Dau Tieng District. The physicians have serviced over 650 elderly patients, of whom, 300 were offered specialized health service of blood sugar checking and screening for diabetes and heart diseases.

On the sideline of the program, Department of Health, Association of Youths, and Association of Young Physicians held a talk on improvement of community health-caring with large participation of young physicians in the province.

Mr. Huynh Minh Chin, Leader of Dau Tieng District Club of Young Physicians said: “The talk introduces good models of volunteering drives to be analyzed for better services to the public.”

Evaluating the program, Mr. Pham Hong Thang, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth’s League and Chair of Provincial Association of Youths informed of the necessity and vital roles of young people and physicians in offering health services to the elderly.
