Mr. Le Huu Duc was such example.Duc is currently the Secretary of An Dien Commune Youth's League and a commune official. Duc not only takes over the professional career but also becomes a young man of getting rich by his own endeavor in the career. Starting his business in 2012, he did not choose the popular crop or cattles to plant and rear but he determined to pursue orchid cultivation as planting these flowers would not occupy much space or require binding time; this was so suitable to his peculiar work with high economic efficiency.
After being trained in growing techniques for orchids and visiting some orchid gardens, Duc bought supplies and seedlings for growing. At first, due to less investment and experienced as a orchid grower, he just planted about 1,000 orchid roots.
More than a year later, as he gradually mastered the techniques which ensured stable harvest, he deployed planting more than 5,000 orchid roots on an area of nearly 600m2.
Nearly a year, he had steady bloom of 50% of his orchid garden, bringing monthly income of more than VND 5 million to his family.
Recognizing the increasing demand for local fresh flowers, he and his wife taught themselves flower arrangements and increase revenue by offering fresh bloom to customers. Mr. Le Huu Duc said: "Activities of Youth's League consumed most of my time, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Thus, aside from economic purposes, I grow orchids as a hobby after work ."
To ensure both do good professional work and orchid care, Duc has arranged time to work properly. Everyday, I wake up early to preserve time for orchid care and house chores. Then, both of them go to work together. After work, they hurry back home to complete unfinished work. Thanks to good care and up-to-standard treatment, Duc's orchid garden attracts more and more customers. Whereby, his income and family life have been improved and increased.
Mr. Huynh Van Tuan, Chair of the An Dien Commune Farmer Association said: "Not only being a model of self earning, Duc is also an energetic young member of our Collective Group of Orchid planting. He always completes the assignments." Recently, Mr. Le Huu Duc has been honorably voted by Ben Cat Town Youth's League as an elite youth working and following Uncle Ho's teachings.
