The province continues to support people overcoming difficulties

The Covid-19 in the province has been controlled, people have gradually caught up again with the new normalcy, but there are still many difficult circumstances due to the impact of the disease. Therefore, the support of all levels, branches, volunteer groups and benefactors have not stopped, because there are still many situations that need our care to stabilize their lives, soon overcome difficulties.

Many disadvantaged people have been supported with necessities from "VND0" markets organized by the Provincial Red Cross.

To take care of orphans

The Covid-19 pandemic has made three children of Truong Thi Bé Thu (Ward 9, Phu Hoa Ward, Thu Dau Mot City) unexpectedly become fatherless. Thu said that their lives previously had been difficult, her husband passed away, with three small children (the first in the 7th grade, the second in the 3rd grade and the youngest child is only 4 years old), she bears all the burdens bears in the coming time.

Thu confided: "My husband died about 2 months ago, but I still do not know how to find a job and take care of my three young children. In recent days, my family has received attention, support of money and gifts from local government and also received scholarships for my children from Fatherland Front Committee”. Thu said, for the future of her children, when the disease was controlled, she would try to arrange for her children to receive education, then find a job to earn an income and take care of the children.

At this time, orphans are cases that need more care and protection than anyone else. Understanding this situation of families and to share the extreme pain that they are facing, in addition to calling for support resources for the Covid-19 fighting, Fatherland Front at all levels in the province have also launched campaigns and called on the community to extend its arms and help to care orphans of Covid-19.

Nguyen Van Loc, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, affirmed that the province's consistent policy is "to let no one left behind" in this pandemic. In order to share difficulties with families and orphans affected by the Covid-19, in addition to the province's support policies, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee will collaborate and mobilize social and educational organizations to join hands to care for orphans, so that they could continue their schooling and develop. Up to now, there have been many gifts and meaningful scholarships given to disadvantaged children and orphans during this pandemic time.

To help people stabilize their lives

The Covid-19 has affected all aspects of social life, especially to the poor and disadvantaged workers in lodging houses. In localities and units, activities to support needy people and workers staying in lodging houses have been taking place with many practical activities. One of the practical support activities for disadvantaged people and workers in the province after the disease was controlled is the "VND" markets organized by the Provincial Red Cross at their office on 30-4 Street, Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot City. In the past month, the market has been held regularly to provide many essential goods priced at "0 VND" for people. In addition to rice, fish sauce, cooking oil, eggs, canned fish etc., every day, the market also receives vegetables and fruits brought by benefactors to share with needy people.

Tran Ngoc Hanh, who is staying a lodging house in Phu Chanh ward, Tan Uyen town, was very happy as selecting many items without having to consider its price. Hanh said: "I am a street vendor, my earning is very low, we have to live sparingly to afford rent and living expenses. Husbands are seriously ill, my sons are also unemployed due to the Covid-19, thus our lives have been very difficult in recent months. However, in this pandemic time, we have been supported with gifts and necessities at “VND0” markets held regularly”.

Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of the Provincial Red Cross, said: "The Covid-19 has been basically controlled, many people have gone back to work, but there are also many people who are poor and disadvantaged, do not have jobs again, thus they need support to stabilize their lives. Provincial Red Cross will continue to mobilize more resources to support as many people as possible to encourage them to overcome difficulties soon."

Since the beginning of the fourth Covid-19 wave, the Provincial Red Cross has organized 69 markets of “0VND” supporting more than 23,000 disadvantaged people, people with disabilities, street vendors, and migrant workers in the province with warm meals in the middle of the pandemic season. In order to share the burden, help needy peope rise up again, over the past two weeks, the number of people supported by “VND0” markets has increased from 300 to 500 persons / market.
