In a meeting with red zones on August 28, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, commented that the outbreak in red zones mainly concentrated in areas with many lodging houses with a "super-thick" population density. Thao also asked red zones to continue to take good care of the people and fight the pandemic well in lodging houses.
To take good care of the people
Facing the surging Covid-19, the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control carried out many effective pandemic prevention and control strategies. The prominent was a special directive on tightening the social distancing order at 15 wards of Thuan An city, Di An city and Tan Uyen town in recent days. The implementation of restriction order has made it easier for local forces to carry out mass screening and testing campaigns to promptly separate F0 cases from the community.
Residents and workers at lodging houses in Thuan An city receive gifts from local government.
However, the restrictions on traveling and trade of goods also created certain difficulties in people's lives. Regarding this problem, Nguyen Hoang Thao asked municipal governments to quickly and promptly organize the transportation and distribution of food and necessities to residents. “The province does not allow the situation of having rice in stock but people are hungry. We have implemented restrictions ordering residents to "stay where they are", then we have an obligation to take good care of people's lives. This is an important condition for the people to always agree, support and join hands for pandemic fight and control work," emphasized Thao.
In addition to speeding up the distribution of rice, Nguyen Hoang Thao also recommended functional departments and localities to sustain the supply chain of food and necessities for the people. In addition, localities also need to promote well the roles and tasks of mobile squads at the grassroots level, such as mobile medical stations, community Covid teams, mobile patrol squads, rapid reaction forces… These are the core forces that make great contributions to propagating and mobilizing people to join hands for the fight against COVID-19.
To pay attention to anti-pandemic work at lodging houses
Amid the surging Covid-19, to implement the strategy "each commune and ward is a fortress, each citizen is a soldier on the frontline of pandemic prevention and control", the province asked municipal governments to immediately appoint officials to grassroots levels for the anti-pandemic work. Accordingly, in the coming time, red zones will continue to perform the campaign to sweep out the disease according to the 1-3-5 schedule set by the province. Localities focus on speeding up the testing process in residential areas, especially areas having many lodging houses.
This method is to separate F0s from the community, return the green color to each neighborhood, residential area. By August 29, in Thu Dau Mot city, about 50% of neighborhoods and residential groups established "green areas". Meanwhile, this figure in Di An city was 55%, Thuan An city is 45%. Although the pandemic situation is still complicated, a number of green areas have begun to appear in Tan Uyen Town and are protected.
Ton Quang Vinh, Party Secretary, People's Committee Chairman of Binh Chuan Ward (Thuan An City), said that due to the application of this campaign, after three rounds of 1-3-5 sweeping campaign, the ward was basically green. After detecting infected and suspected cases, the locality coordinated with the city's functional forces to immediately conduct separation. After the third screening round on August 27, the ward was basically clean with the significantly reduced number of recorded positive cases.
Being at the peak of Covid-19 screening campaign, the number of F0 cases during this period would increase dramatically. If the number of F0s exceeds the collecting and testing capacity, provincial leaders recommended that except for five groups who are forced to undergo concentrated isolation and treatment, localities can flexibly arrange for F0s to be isolated at home with adequate conditions.
