Meetings with voters have been promoting in terms of quality, asserted not only by delegations but also by voters. The achievements were thanks to changes of methodology and approach to the public and to the know-how of delegations that are willing to listen and respect the public and activate inspection of the public on the voted regime.
Leadership of People’s Council organizations must recline to the public to have better view for relative truthfulness of the public. Take environment pollution for an example, we will see that once the public raises the issue, it is actually out of truth. Or as recently, the degrading dam of Tu Van Lake in Cau Sat Hamlet, Lai Hung Commune was reported by the public not by the managing units. And site surveys conducted by delegations have proved that such public reports were accurate.
Through meetings with the public, we could see that the public is more and more knowledgeable about greater concerns of the government and the National Assembly not like before when they are more concerned about smaller issues.
And thus, concerns of poverty reduction, infrastructure, and living environment have been shifting to from concerns of GDP and inflation to those of urban rejuvenation, urban beauty making and other greater ones.
During his life time, President Ho Chi Minh drew out a lesson that no matter how hard things are, we can resolve by listening to the public and promoting their power. Following his lesson, civil servants, especially those are closely in contact with the public, should listen to them. As the matter of fact, voters meetings are being improved to make the public eyes and ears of democratic agencies.
