Along with the development of the revolutionary forces of the whole country, implementing the resolution of the Military Conference in An Phu Xa, on November 25, 1945, at An Quoi Temple, An Son Commune, Lai Thieu District (now Thuan An City), the 1st Battalion - Southern Liberation Army of Thu Dau Mot Province (now Binh Duong) was officially established. Born from the August Revolution movement to the Southern resistance, the provincial armed forces developed continuously; from self-defense units to destroy evil and break the shackles, they quickly became armed uprising units.

Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, said that after two fierce and arduous wars of national liberation, the army and people of Binh Duong were never shaken, remained loyal to the Party, steadfastly held their ground, and bravely attacked. The provincial military officers and soldiers are intelligent and creative, organizing many good battles. Some examples include the battle at Cau Dinh post, the battle at Ba Kien bridge, the battle at Ben Suc, Dong So, Suoi Dua, Bong Trang, Lo Gach..., which terrified the enemy. In particular, Binh Duong is also proud to be the birthplace of a special way of attacking forts, called "special forces", which has led to many glorious victories.

During the resistance war, the provincial armed forces fought bravely, contributing to the completion of the cause of national liberation. During peacetime, the noble image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" is further enhanced by practical actions and a spirit of dedication to the people and the country. In addition to its combat readiness training, the provincial military has effectively executed its peacetime "combat mission," which involves preventing and responding to natural disasters, incidents, and catastrophes, as well as conducting rescue operations. With the motto "4 on-site things", the provincial military officers and soldiers are always the core, pioneering force, leading in the work of preventing and fighting natural disasters, incidents, catastrophes and rescue, contributing to minimizing damage to life and property of units and people.

According to statistics, in the past 10 years, there were 166 natural disasters; 679 fires, forest fires, 11 explosions, and 3 building collapses in the province. Accordingly, the Provincial Military Command mobilized 9,568 officers and soldiers and coordinated with forces and people to rescue 172 people and 8 vehicles, helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and incidents, contributing to stabilizing people's lives and ensuring security and order.

Back when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out strongly, with extremely complicated developments, deeply affecting all aspects of social life, with the spirit of "for the health and lives of the people first and foremost", absolutely not letting people suffer from hunger, hardship, and deprivation during the pandemic, the provincial military mobilized maximum resources, becoming a "green wall" to take the lead and accompany the anti-epidemic forces, protecting the peace of people's lives. Militia and self-defense forces have promoted their responsibilities, been side by side with functional forces in the disease prevention and control.  Many soldiers participating in this fight were exposed to Covid-19. But with the highest will, energy and determination, they continued to be in isolation areas, contributed to reducing the risk of disease spread, maintaining political security, social order and safety in the area...
