The third Bach Dang Pomelo Fragrance Festival 2024 took place in four days (from January 25 to 28) and ended successfully. With the active propagation and careful preparation, cultural, artistic and sports activities taking place during the festival gained the support and participation of a large number of local people and tourists.

Cultural, artistic, and sports activities were elaborately organized and diverse in genre, attracted the enthusiastic participation and cheering of a large number of people. The musical performances served at the festival are mostly songs composed by musicians specifically for the festival, praising hometown Tan Uyen and Bach Dang pomelo... Traditional boat racing competition was organized well and made the atmosphere of the festival even more exciting. The "Farmers Competition", a folk game, brought visitors back to their childhood. “Don ca tai tu” performances at the festival created a colorful picture of Southern melodies, making admirers and tourists join in the emotions and happiness of songs about the land and people of Tan Uyen. Or a competition of modern dance groups "Spring of the homeland and youth" created a fresh and vibrant atmosphere for visitors coming to the festival...

The image of spring coming to Tan Uyen City is vividly painted by each brushstroke of students. Painted conical hats in the contest were respectfully presented to provincial and city leaders, distinguished guests as a beautiful souvenir of the festival. Besides, the highlight of the festival was the charming, elegant and friendly beauty of Tan Uyen people, clearly shown in the contest "Beauty of the homeland" and the image of simple farmers in traditional costumes, which gave tourists good impressions of Tan Uyen people, pomelo farmers who have preserved the family and local grapefruit growing profession.

Coming to this festival, the photographer couple Pham Minh Giang and Vu Uyen Phuong (Ho Chi Minh City) not only had an opportunity to visit and shop at product display booths and food booths, but also collected many beautiful moments for a photo collection about Tan Uyen City's culture. Photographer Pham Minh Giang said that Bach Dang commune is inherently very beautiful because of its green pomelo orchards, new rural roads filled with colorful flowers, shiny golden rice fields, and poetic historical relics. On this occasion, the Bach Dang Pomelo Fragrance Festival was organized on a large scale with animated cultural and sports activities to further enhance the beauty and value of this land.

Many opportunities for Tan Uyen pomelo to develop

Many visitors to the festival were very pleased to learn more useful knowledge about advanced organic agricultural farming technology to improve the quality of pomelo products; about the potential for domestic and export grapefruit consumption through a seminar to introduce advanced organic agricultural technology processes and instructions for installing and using electronic traceability systems for key local specialties". Moreover, this was also an opportunity for tourists to learn about, visit cultural and historical relics and buy pomelo right at gardens through a connection program to visit relic sites in the city.

According to Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen City People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, with many new, attractive activities and large scale of the organization, more attention is paid to investment to meet the people’s needs. The third Bach Dang Pomelo Fragrance Festival 2024 attracted more than 5,000 visitors coming, shopping, enjoying culinary dishes, participating in games and watching cultural programs at the festival. This number shows the interest of people and tourists inside and outside the city in a traditional festival, regional specialties and specific local cultural activities.

With this successful organization, the Bach Dang Pomelo Fragrance Festival has shown that this is a very meaningful and practical activity that helps honor pomelo and quality products processed and produced from pomelo. Thereby, the festival contributes to bringing the Bach Dang pomelo collective brand closer to the market and consumers at home and abroad, creating motivation for pomelo farmers in general and pomelo farmers in Bach Dang commune in particular continues preserving and developing specialty pomelo varieties.
