There are still food safety concerns

The shopping demand during Tet holiday often increases. This is also the time when many types of goods and foods of unknown origin, poor quality, and fake goods are mixed into the market and become a threat to public health. Therefore, food safety during Tet holiday is a matter of great concern. Some for-profit businesses have ignored the law and business ethics, intentionally sell products of poor quality, unknown origin, fake products.

Particularly for food sources, except for clear origin, currently foods that are consumed a lot such as meat, vegetables, fruits, etc., are mostly supplied by small traders, from small-scale farming households, which is veyr difficult to control and identify each source. In addition, the quality of foods sold in spontaneous markets and street stalls, is almost difficult to control. While the competent force for this sector is thin, the market is large and complex, so strict inspection and effective control is very difficult to perform. Therefore, during the Tet holidays, it is necessary to strengthen the forces to inspect, control, and promptly publish the list of products that do not have quality guarantee. This is also the duty and responsibility of the authorities to protect the interests of consumers. On the other hand, along with urging inspection and control, it is necessary to strictly handle violating establishments, apply and propose heavy fines to deter deliberate fraud, production and trading of dirty food harming consumers' health...

To ensure food safety during the Tet holiday, functional forces and localities need to strengthen the implementation of food safety assurance, strengthen inspection to promptly handle violations, contribute to stabilize prices, prevent and promptly handle goods of poor quality, which do not ensure food hygiene and safety, to be circulated and sold on the market. The authorities also need to intensify propagation, heighten public awareness of becoming wise consumers as choosing and using foods of clear origin, with manufacturer information labels; Do not use products of unknown origin and say no to dirty food.
