Following the direction of Ministry of Health and Provincial Department of Health on giving the third Covid-19 jabs to people after their second shot and with underlying medical conditions and frontline workers, Di An city developed a plan to carry out the vaccination, ensuring the right progress and safety.
The mass vaccination against Covid-19 for people in Di An City has been done since September 2021. At present, 100% people aged 12 and over have completed the first and second shots, reaching 87-93% depending on the target group.
After receiving medical authority's directive on the third shot campaign, Di An City Medical Center advised the City People's Committee to develop an implementation plan to ensure the right priority groups, progress and safety during the vaccination process. In addition to the third shot, the city is giving the first and second shots to people and workers returning to the city; at the same time, to complete the second shot for students from 7th to 12th grades.
To stick to the plan, the city's medical authority assigned tasks to medical stations of wards on time. Medical stations of wards were tasked to choose reasonable locations, seats ensuring the distance, and proactively develop plans to handle unexpected situations. After completing the third shot for priority groups in 2021, the city will continue to give the third shots to the community when there are instructions and adequate supply of vaccines.
