The functional sectors of Thu Dau Mot city have announced that the insurance of food hygiene and safety has been vigorously implemented since the beginning of 2024 without any cases of food poisoning in the area.
Specifically, the city Health Center has organized food safety inspections on 388 establishments (an increase of 208 establishments compared to the same period), of which 319 establishments met the prescribed standards (achieving a rate of 82.2%, an increase of 3.54% compared to the same period). For the district level, inspections have been conducted on 997 street food establishments, of which 848 establishments met the standards (achieving a rate of 85.06%, a decrease of 0.36% from previous period), and administrative penalties have been imposed on 7 violating establishments (a decrease of 14 establishments compared to the same period).
Along with the mentioned activities, the city has conducted evaluation and issued food safety certificates to 159 establishments (an increase of 23 establishments compared to the same period). Local functional departments have also conducted quick tests on 54 food samples at various establishments in the area to show that 53 were negative and 1 sample was positive to hantavirus. The specialized forces have mobilized the related establishments to self-destruct all the products infected by positive hantavirus.
The concentrated implementation of rigorous inspection and handling of violations has helped improve the work of ensuring food safety and hygiene in Thu Dau Mot city.
