Thuan An district is a key locality in economic development of the province. The district is now home to three industrial parks of Vietnam-Singapore, Viet Huong, Dong An and industrial compounds, mostly in Thuan Giao, Binh Chuan, Binh Hoa, An Phu communes and An Thanh township, attracting 2,015 businesses and a large amount of immigrant laborers. The district’s order and security, therefore, has become complicated. But, the district has taken lead in effectively realizing the “Ensuring order and security at industrial parks, compounds” project of provincial People’s Committee.
According to statistics, Thuan An district annually witnesses tens of labor strikes with involvement of thousands of laborers because of many reasons. Before the situation, the district and relevant agencies have made efforts in solving businesses’ queries and disseminating basic knowledge on the Labor Law and the Law on Trade Union among workers, aiming to preventing illegal labor strikes. Thanks to these efforts, the situation of labor strikes herein has so far “cooled down”.
The local functional agencies over time detected 256 administrative violations and many other cases disturbing public order relating to foreigners. Some 81 infringements in terms of economics were also found in the district. Since 2005, there have been 1,635 criminal cases and social evils reported herein, killing 60 people and injuring 324 others. Property damage amounted more than VND6.9bln…
To continue well implementing the project of “Ensuring order and security at industrial parks, compounds”, Thuan An district’s People’s Committee has just held a conference to sign and launch the “all people take park in defending national security” to ensure order and security at industrial parks and compounds. Vo Thi Thanh, chairwoman of the district’s Labor Union said: “The district’s Labor Union will mobilize businesses to set up trade union locals and mobilize workers’ involvement; answer businesses and workers’ queries on the law, minimizing labor disputes and strikes.
The district’s police agency will also have close cooperation with businesses to monitor and discover breaches and wrongdoers pertaining to the local order and security; regularly inform businesses about the local order and security, especially criminals’ tricks in the current context…With the above measures, Thuan An district will become a safe destination for investors.
